40 - Death Shack is King

The three of them woke up around the same time, practically one right after the other.

The morning sun rose over the mountains, its gentle rays washing over the three shaken individuals, gradually chasing away the chill that had seeped into their bones.

"Was what I experienced in there a dream, or did it actually happen?" Kyle asked Jake.

"You should know the answer yourself," Jake replied with a smile.

Kyle nodded heavily, his expression complex as he looked around.

His gut told him it was all a dream.

But how could it feel so real?

The warmth of the blood that had splattered on his face from his friend still seemed to linger, causing his cheeks to flush slightly.

The echoes of those desperate screams still rang in his ears.

Everything was so vivid, etched deep in his mind, unlike a dream that fades away as soon as you wake up.

"Thank God, it was all a dream!" Chad cried out in relief.

He had dreamed of his parents, wife, and children all leaving him one by one. For a man nearing middle age, it was a truly devastating experience.

"Whew," Cindy sighed, clutching her chest.

"So, what do you all think of the Death Shack?" Jake asked.

Kyle closed his eyes and said with emotion, "Once is enough. I never want to go in there again!"

"Exhilarating, extremely exhilarating," Cindy nodded emphatically, "My only regret is that I didn't get to see the Grim Reaper's face!"

Chad wiped the tears from his eyes, an endless stream of emotions swirling within him, which ultimately condensed into one sentence.

"In the realm of haunted houses, I, Chad, declare the Death Shack to be the best!"

This wasn't just empty flattery. It was a sincere statement based on his years of experience in the industry.

"Alright, you've all passed the haunted house stage. Next, we have the Hyper Velocity Coaster and the drop tower. Do you want to continue, or can you quit at any time?" Jake asked.

Cindy jumped to her feet, her face pale, but the fiery passion in her eyes showed no sign of dimming. "Continue, definitely continue!"

"I should be okay too," Kyle said.

He thought about it carefully. He didn't perform very well in the haunted house, admittedly.

  It simply wasn't his forte.

People who enjoyed extreme sports might be unafraid of death, but they weren't completely devoid of fear!

"A simple Hyper Velocity Coaster and drop tower are nothing compared to the extreme sports I've done before," Kyle said confidently.

Liam, who was standing to the side, couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.

"All talk, no action! You'll find out what's small and what's big soon enough!"

Before he could finish his sentence, Mike and Ethan rushed to cover Liam's mouth.

  Kyle looked at Liam strangely.

Ethan flashed a simple grin and said "Don't mind that guy, those are personal issues"

  Mike whispered in Liam's ear.

"Liam, what are you doing? Don't you want to watch the show anymore?"

  "Ignore them," Jake said.

Kyle patted his chest and said, "Anyway, I'm fine, it's just..."

  He looked at Chad.

They had experienced a moment of skin-to-skin contact in the haunted house, forming a bond of camaraderie in the face of adversity, making their relationship different from what it was before.

"I," Chad said with a smile, "I'm fine too."

"Alright, let's go!" Jake waved his hand and led the way.

Soon, the group arrived at the Hyper Velocity Coaster.

It wasn't open yet, and the roller coaster stood empty.

Cindy took the lead and sat in the first row, gazing at the smooth track ahead, her expression drooping, pouting her lips.

"Boss, this roller coaster is so boring!"

"Why didn't you add a few 360-degree loops? Preferably several in a row, that would be so thrilling!"

"And you could adjust the slope a bit, you should at least have a 30-meter high, 90-degree vertical drop!"

The more Cindy spoke, the more excited she became, instinctively waving her fists in the air.

Mike and the others rolled their eyes.

The current track was already dangerous enough.

If it were really built the way Cindy described, would anyone even dare to ride it?

The Hyper Velocity Coaster might as well be renamed the Suicide Coaster!

Jake was covered in cold sweat.

Kyle casually found an empty seat and waved at Chad, who was hesitating on the platform.

  "Chad, come here, sit here!"

"Two guys sitting together, is that okay?" Chad said, but his body told a different story as he walked straight to the seat next to Kyle.

"Stop talking nonsense and sit down!" Kyle said.

  Chad sat down.

Under Jake's instruction, the three first fastened their seat belts and then pulled down the safety bars!

After Jake finished inspecting everything, he walked into the control room and started the roller coaster.

With a loud bang, the roller coaster slowly left the station.

Now that the three were on the ride, there was no turning back.

Liam, Mike and Ethan stopped pretending, their smiles gradually becoming unrestrained.

"Friendly reminder, our amusement park's roller coaster is a bit fast!"

"That's right, that's right, you'll need to protect your hairstyles!"

"Take a good look now, the trash cans are here. If you feel like throwing up later, don't go to the wrong place!"

The three on the roller coaster were confused.

"Fast? How fast?" Cindy asked anxiously, "Is it faster than a race car at full throttle?"

Once, she had taken advantage of the butler's inattention and secretly drove her race car to a deserted road in the suburbs, seeking a thrill and stepping on the gas pedal all the way!

That experience was unforgettable for her, and it made her blood boil every time she thought about it.

Unfortunately, after that incident, the butler confiscated all her car keys and arranged a stable driver for her.

"It'll be faster than that!" Mike said with a grin.

After hearing these words, Cindy's dejected mood vanished, her eyes fluttering with anticipation for what was to come.

Kyle and Chad exchanged smiles, not taking the words of those on the platform to heart at all.

"Chad, do you think they're just ignorant? They probably don't know how fast I go when I do some extreme sports!"

"That's right, they're pretty ignorant. Years ago, I traveled to an amusement park in the Middle East, and that amusement park had the fastest roller coaster in the world. I rode it several times and didn't feel a thing!"

"You see, I'm not even afraid of the fastest roller coaster in the world, why would I be afraid of this one?"

  "Haha, who says otherwise?"

"I don't even know who these people think they're looking down on?"

Amid the laughter, the roller coaster climbed to the top of the track.
