25 - Special Guest Arrives

  A week later.

"Oh my god, I'm never riding a roller coaster again!"

"Turns out, no boss is an idiot. This $10,000 ain't worth it!"

  "Puking... I'm gonna hurl!"

At the Hyper Velocity Coaster platform, a bunch of tourists stumbled off the ride, promptly barfed their guts out, and then started ripping into it!

Liam and Mike weaved through the crowd, helping out wherever needed, keeping the Hyper Velocity Coaster running like a well-oiled machine.

Ethan was killing it over at the Death Shack. All that working out he did made lifting passed-out folks out of there a piece of cake.

Jake was chilling for the most part, only pitching in when things got too crazy.

The rest of the time, he was holed up in his room, racking his brain for ways to promote Starlight Amusement Park.

Business has been looking up at Starlight Amusement Park everyday, with a steady flow of visitors and turning a profit.

But it wasn't nearly enough to satisfy Jake's ambition.

This park was his parents' life's work. He'd sworn at their funeral to make Starlight Amusement Park a global sensation!

With such an aspiration, how could he settle for small wins and stay put!

As it stood, Starlight Amusement Park was hitting a wall.

The Death Shack and the Hyper Velocity Coaster were major attractions for thrill-seekers.

But, let's be real, the park only had these two rides. Lack of variety could make tourist get bore real soon!

The only way to break through the bottleneck that Starlight Amusement Park was encountering now, was by adding a new attraction!

Thinking that, Jake pulls up the system interface.

  "Sigh..."

Jake sighs heavily, with a look of defeat in his eyes.

Jake’s was like a wilted weed, immediately losing all his drive, slumping back on the chair with no strength.

He only had a measly 6487 Fame Points, with a 3000 fame point deficit to unlock the next attraction.

If things keep progressing the way it is, it will take another half a month for him to scrap enough fame points.

"Any way to get some famous people to come and visit?"

Jake says as he puts a hand on his chin and thinking to do something fishy.

Moments later, he grabs his phone.

The first call went to Ian.

After answering Jake’s call, Ian said euphemistically that he was unable to assist with this endeavor.

Ever since the previous incident with the horror house pros getting wrecked in the Death Shack, Starlight Amusement Park had become a forbidden topic in their group.

Those lucky to have been to the Starlight Amusement Park, have expressed they'd rather rip their head off before returning to the horror house again.

People who had never experienced the terror, are also spooked out and would never come now.

Jake hangs up and calls Liam next.

Liam said he could probably trick a few naive fans into riding the Hyper Velocity Coaster, but that's the best he could do.

Jake thanks him and ends the call.

Then he tosses his phone aside, looking miserable as he flops back onto the chair!

All Liam is offering, is a group of non famous, with no amount of benefit to Jake’s goal of obtaining fame points.

"System, isn't there any way to boost my Fame Points faster?" Jake yells.

  "Ding!"

  "Special Guest System activated!"

Hearing that, Jake shoots to his feet, shakes his head, wondering if he misheard in his daze, and asks again.

  "System, what did you say?"

"Ding, Special Guest System is activating!"

"Once activated, a Special Guest will visit the park randomly!"

  "Special Guest..."

"Cut to the chase, what's so special about them?" Jake interrupts the System's spiel, asking with a burst of desperation.

"Every Special Guest is extremely famous."

Jake's eyes light up, he asks, "How famous are we talking? Compared to Ian and those guys?"

"At least a hundred times the Fame Points of Ian."

Jake's breathing speeds up, looking thrilled.

He remembers Ian getting him around 400 Fame Points back then.

A hundred times Ian's Fame Points.

"That's gotta be 40,000 Fame Points, right?" Jake blurts out.

He takes a huge breath, deeply stunned by the result!

40,000 Fame Points, meaning he could instantly get four attractions like the Hyper Velocity Coaster.

Before Jake can even wrap his head around this, the System throws another surprise his way.

"If you can fulfill the Special Guest's requests, you'll get tons of Fame Points, plus a special facility as a reward!"

Jake asks, "What's a special facility? Another ride?"

"Special facilities are different from rides. Usually, they're places for guests to eat, drink, and spend money."

"A little heads-up, each special facility is super unique, so take a close look once you get it."

  Jake gets it now.

Basically, restaurants and gift shops in the park.

Bringing in way more revenue than just ticket sales.

"Why didn't you fire up the Special Guest System sooner if it's so awesome?" Jake says, sounding a little annoyed.

"Ding, the Special Guest System has ups and downs!"

"If you don't meet the Special Guest's needs, the park will take a hit!"

"Could be as minor as some bad press, leading to fewer visitors, or as major as certain rides disappearing."

"Please think it over before activating the Special Guest System."

Jake calms down, furrowing his brows as he starts to think it through.

After a while, Jake decides to go ahead with the Special Guest System!

It is important to take risks, and play the big shot if Starlight Amusement Park wants to rise through the sky fast!

Moreover, there will always be hiccups in his journey for Starlight Amusement Park to develop into a large-scale, world renowned amusement park.

Confronting these setbacks and challenges can allow to temporarily alleviate the tension.

"System, turn on the Special Guest System!"

"Ding, the Special Guest System has been activated. The first Special Guest will arrive at the park soon. Get ready to roll out the red carpet!"
