During the 396th recorded cycle, the great country of Rohakohou was struck by a calamity, a mist of corrupted mana so massive that it covered a majority of the country-side. One third of the population was wiped out before the court-magicians managed to trap the mist and prevent more casualties. While the country eventually recovered from the losses, the tragedy remains forever ingrained in everyone''''s mind. The rest of the world was also shaken by what happened and some countries began taking harsh measures against magic in attempts to prevent corrupt mana from appearing.
