Chapter 24: Name Word of Power

Chapter 24: Name Word of Power

That night, Nitaan observed a new star in his consciousness space. Amidst the sky adorned with three types of heavenly sights, only 2 pitch-black skies were left in the west and in the center.

5 stars that used to hover in the sky are now left with only two. One of the two remaining stars already transformed completely.

This star was pitch black, densely covered in black feathers, resembling black dandelion seeds carried on the wind. However, it wasn’t empty or hollow inside. Instead, it bore the imprint of a dog's paw print. In the center of the paw print were glowing black letters.

  Kiita Wongjantra

A paw print, huh? How cute, Nitaan chuckled.

Was Kiita’s Word of Power’s star in the form of my handprint? Nitaan wondered. I couldn't see clearly at that time, he thought.

Word of Power is said to be infinite in number. Anything can become a Word of Power. Although called a Word of Power, there are many times when, when read aloud, it is longer than one word. These magical symbols are said to have been created by God. A single symbol often holds meaning in itself.

In short, one symbol has its own inherent meaning. A symbol representing ‘love’ might seem similar to a symbol representing ‘eternal love’, but it won’t be the same.

The fact that every symbol has its own meaning makes the number of words of power seem endless. Even though Words of Power that were discovered by many people often sound similar.

For example, the word ‘Fire’ which is common among the population of Firegan Kingdom, has different symbols. There are often minor differences in detail, but they all count as ‘Fire’.

A transformation occurs upon reaching the level of an Engraver. When Word of Power was engraved onto the Engraver’s body.

Reaching the level of an Engraver means that Learner can completely comprehend the word. Once the Word of Power is thoroughly comprehended, it can truly unleash its full potential. Word of Power then moves to be engraved on the body instead of in the consciousness space.

At that point, Word of Power will manifest additional power depending on the Engraver's comprehension. Even if an outsider cannot understand the difference in meaning, that word has already changed in the eyes of said Engraver.

If Nitaan had to guess, he would guess that Elder Grai's word might be something like ‘Realm of Fire’, ‘Fire territory’, or something along those lines, based on his usage.

Two bandits’ words, ‘Bend’ and ‘Bounce’, should also be able to be interpreted more deeply.

Word of Power is the essence of the mind, what truly defines us. Therefore, it's reasonable that each person's word would be unique. They might be similar, but fundamentally, they would be different.

This difference arises from interpretation. One person might see fire as a weapon of destruction, burning enemies to ashes.

Another might see fire as a light that dispels all evil. The results of the power would therefore be different. Only the basic power, like ignition, heat, and combustion, remains the same.

Nitaan has studied Word of Power extensively. He has read about many different Words of Power. Some he had read, and he couldn't even predict what power it held.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.

For him, the strangest types of words of power are usually emotions like ‘Anger’, ‘Happiness’, ‘Jealousy’, or bizarre actions like ‘Dance’, ‘Sacrifice’, and ‘Sleep’. This doesn't even include animal words like ‘Wolf’, ‘Dragon’, or ‘Serpent’.

But recently, the ranking of the strangest Words of Power in Nitaan's mind has undergone a major rearrangement.

  Nitaan Wongjantra

  Kiita Wongjantra

He had never heard of a Word of Power that identified a person (dog)'s name before, and he was quite sure that most of the Grand Continent's population hadn't either. But to say that only he and Kiita had Name Word of Power might be an exaggeration. Among the millions who walk the path of Fate Scripting, there must be others who might have Name Word of Power as well.

Most people are unwilling to reveal their Words of Power. It's possible that there might be even stranger ones.

Nitaan had heard of Words of Power related to status, such as ‘Family’, ‘Mother’, or even ‘Lover’. These words usually have limited abilities but high power, capable of great enhancement. But a Name Word of Power like his was something he didn't understand.

Nitaan tried sending his power into the Kiita Wonjantra to learn about it. After sending his power in, it responded. Sending back knowledge about its power. Nitaan sensed the vast amount of information flooding into his mind.

He could perceive Kiita's location within a radius of 300 meters.

He could vaguely understand Kiita's intended mind without direct communication.

He could share the Word of Power with Kiita using Link. Without Link, he could transmit strength, endurance, speed, and spiritual energy, but only in small amounts.

He could receive power from Kiita depending on the type of power Kiita transmitted through Link as well.

The power he could use was limited. Ultimately, this Word of Power was only in its initial stage. To elevate it, he had to perform Engraving Ceremony again.

The hope of performing another Engraving Ceremony wasn't lost. He had learned about various treasures from Traveler. For now, his focus should be on strengthening himself as quickly as possible.

Nitaan felt a deep sadness when he thought about what would happen if he didn’t perform that Engraving Ceremony, but quickly shook it off. What he was able to save was worth more than thousands of his future.

So, Kiita's ability to share my Word of Power stems from Nitaan Wongjantra, and I, too, am able to share my Word of Power. Normally, only strength, spiritual energy, speed, and endurance can be transmitted. But I can share my Words of Power through the synergy of Link.

If applied properly, both my and Kiita's power will soar to another level. Sharing our word and power will be crucial in battle. Nitaan pondered, his mind currently preoccupied with ways to increase his own strength.

The tournament is next year. He only has one year left. Although the tournament limits age restrictions to 40, meaning most should be Learners or First word Engravers, Nitaan is certain there will be higher-level individuals.

Many genius Engravers are in the same situation as Nitaan, forcing themselves to perform Engraving Ceremony prematurely, resulting in faster self-improvement than their peers but with limited future potential.

These gifted individuals won't stop there. Their pride won’t let them be able to accept their future. They will undoubtedly strive to perform Engraving Ceremony again. What opportunity would be better than this tournament?

Counting all these talented individuals, Nitaan is certain many of them are Second word Engravers. Some with exceptional talent may even be Enlightened.

Nitaan is confident his own talent is no less than theirs, but what he lacks is time. Nitaan is currently only 21, while many of the competitors are in their late 30s.

He's still a Learner, not even a First word Engraver. His time for comprehending is far too short.

He only has one year to rise to First word Engraver to have a chance at ranking in the competition. The minimum requirement is Second word Engraver to qualify for first place.

A normal person would see this as utterly hopeless, but not Nitaan.

  He has a companion.

In such a tournament, even if it's a one-on-one fight, bringing a companion beast or animal companion is common.

Words of Power are diverse, and control types are just as numerous. ‘Control’, ‘Manipulation’, ‘Slave contracts’, ‘Loyalty’, and others.

If someone with this type of power were to participate without their companion, it's like telling a swordsman to fight without their sword because their opponent is skilled in martial arts.

Especially since the Malakai Empire values ??strength above all else, if the winner of the tournament loses to an equally skilled Beast tamer who couldn’t participate because of the rules outside of the arena, it would be a huge blow to their reputation. Doesn't that mean the Imperial Tournament is just a farce?

Conversely, it would be hard to watch if a Beast trainer brought dozens of beasts to gang up on a single person in a tournament. Typically, the rules for one-on-one tournaments only allow Beast tamers to bring a maximum of three companions.

The use of any kind of treasure is strictly prohibited.

Kiita is an extraordinarily ordinary dog. It's a common animal, yet it's at the level of a 4-word Learner. Its only weakness is its physical prowess compared to a devil beast, but Nitaan is confident that Kiita, at this moment, can fight a 3-word Learner devil beast one-on-one.

If it were to fight a 4-word Learner intelligent race, it should have a close fight. But if it were to fight a 4-word Learner devil beast alone, it could only manage to stall for time. Strategy and treasure would be needed to have any hope of winning.

Overall, Kiita should be about as strong as Nitaan when he's fully armed.

“I have to rely on you now,” Nitaan said softly, gently stroking Kiita's head as he slept on his chest.
