To say that today was one of her worst in recent memory would be an understatement. She was sure she had worse, but could not think of what would have been.
Suki had a bad day after eating a particurly long piece of string. She found out afterward when she found a piece of poop hanging off her butt, being held there by said string. Seulgi had to pull the string out of the cat. After the initial shock, she was amused by having to ‘floss her cat’. So, that was not nearly as bad as today.
Nayeon asked her to join her at the gym and try doing pites. While doing one of the exercises/stretches', Seulgi lost her grip on the bar and fell straight onto her back, knocking the wind out of her. It took her a moment to recover after a wheeze and a ugh.
Not being deterred, she tried the same movement as before but slipped again. This time she nded directly on her head. She was lucky to have not snapped her neck. She was also gd that there were several very thick pads under the bars for just this sort of thing. This was one time her clumsiness was an advantage as she had a fairly robust body.
That time, she was definitely deterred and went to find something else to do for a workout. In another gym. Not involving pites or slippery bars. While Nayeon was disappointed that after her initial shock wore off, Seulgi decided that this was not for her and left. But Nayeon was relieved that the only thing Seulgi hurt was her pride. Falling twice will do that, after all. It could have been much, much worse, of course. Nayeon would eventually go on to find another friend, named Katie, to work out with.
That day was not as bad as today, but it was close and certainly scarier.
Seulgi had almost forgotten that episode, but whenever her mind pyed The Worlds Most Embarrassing Montage According To Kang Seulgi when she was alone in the dark depths of the night, she was reminded every now and again. Much to her dismay.
Even she had to acknowledge that she had some rotten luck sometimes. Most called her clumsy because of it. Sometimes it was her being careless. Sometimes it was circumstances beyond her control. But it all culminated in her having rotten luck.
A speeding car would hit a puddle she was standing next to and would get soaked.
A sudden gust of wind in a rain storm would turn her umbrel inside out.
The taxi she got into would run out of gas.
They would have no sugar for her tea. All of the milk they had for her tea was skim.
She brought the charger for her Bluetooth headset instead of her phone when she was at only 25% battery.
The list went on and on. She had a sneaking suspicion that the Universe had it in for her.
But, being an offensively cheerful person, she would not let it get her down. Que Sera Sera was her motto! Some days, like today, it was more challenging to keep her grin, but she would try, darn it! Her ability to make good friends defied her bad luck on every level.
