Chapter 16: The Hand That Covered the Sky [Canon Revision]

  _____________________________

As the echo of Zayn’s demand died, with him and the Devourer standing suffocatingly close.

Locked in each other's gaze with those four pupils fixed on the void-beast with absolute disdain.

The titan's endless power hummed within his void-body which was beyond human comprehension.

The proximity was a physical weight on mankind's chest. Standing within the reach of Zayn and Devourer everything felt like they were being buried alive beneath the weight of existence itself.

  Then Zayn’s mouth parted.

  It wasn’t a mouth-it was a recursive graveyard.

Inside, rows upon rows of jagged fangs crooked and recursive like broken glass and packed like a forest of obsidian spikes with moisture clung to every edge-spread across his mouth's palate.

The interior of the palate was layered wrong-barbs within barbs, a living geometry designed not to bite, but to erase.

It was a maw meant to consume worlds.

The Devourer snarled, snapping his head back in a mixture of fury and denial:

“This mortal… is still wearing an ego like this?”

His pride could not endure the mockery. With a void covered earth-splitting roar, wings tore free from beneath his black skin.

Space buckled as he launched skyward in a single, violent motion, leaving Zayn behind in the dust.

The monster looked up, watching the ascent as if observing a trick, the one he already knew the end of.

Black smoke and ash trailed behind him, blotting out the last flickers of light. His speed was an arrow shot into the heavens, warping the sky itself as clouds started to stretch outward, it looked like the sky had become a giant quiver aiming at the heavens.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

He stopped outside Earth where The Sun and space bled into one another.

Devourer raised one colossal hand. And around his arm, symbols ignited creating runes, slowly drifting into the vacuum above the exosphere.

They assembled one after another connecting into something vast and obscene: A Chakra covering the world, denser than oceans.

It was a wheel of annihilation larger than the planet’s own radius, slowly grinding against reality itself.

Abyssal glyphs burned across its rim, dragging the light of constellations into its orbit. Its edges alone crushed the moon into fragments upon contact into dust and memory.

Oceans rose in silent, spiraling pillars toward the sky heading towards the structure.

Sand, stone and fauna, anything with mass within sight, was drawn upward like an offering because the chakra destabilized Earth's mass.

The chakra looked sharp, ancient, and clustered with runes so dense the sun’s radiance was reduced to a dying candle.

On the ground, mortals screamed. Families and strangers hugged each other. Allies of Zayn wept, their souls mortified by the scale of the end, everyone wailed like children lost before a collapsing star.

  But Zayn? He stood-Curious.

Each breath he exhaled was a grinding assessment of a challenge beyond mankind.

His gaze tracked the cosmic attack above with quiet, unnatural interest.

But he did not step back, not even a slight nudge of muscles. Only a stillness remained-an absence of panic so absolute it felt inhuman.

Like he was a predator watching another creature bare its fangs.

The Devourer roared, his voice going sonic even in the vast vacuum of space, collapsing the stars under his leaking force like fireflies dying.

He raised the chakra with both hands raised and hurled the spell downward.

Its size reduced the planet below to a grain of dust awaiting judgment. Its descent made the galaxies howl like wolves during moonlight-an absolute annihilation given form.

The planet itself recoiled like the civilians, as if the land itself feared its own deletion.

Zayn stood at the center of the crashing shadow.

His talons scraped stone because of its huge length, he raised one arm observing his small blade hand with no fingers, only blades.

He performed a single grounded sweep-like a beast launching a ball skyward.

The motion was deceptively simple-no leap or skyward dash. Just a single, sweeping motion-his claws dragging against the earth and now even air, igniting sparks because of his talons even in no medium.

He swung towards the descending wheel.

The sound that followed was disturbing, like reality just got shredded. But Zayn had turned his back.

A vibration tore through the surrounding space of the world, too heavy for senses to grasp, but too visibly dense to hide.

Every onlooker turned and Zayn was already walking away, impossibly distant from the descending chakra.

The colossal spell screamed and five immense slashes erupted across its body, running perfectly from one rim to another.

Each wound glowed, spitting out burning runes into the empty expanse of nothingness.

The wheel shuddered with a giant metal-bending hum, like its laws had been rewritten.

From the battlefield, soldiers stared in horror, realizing the truth - Zayn’s swing had never touched the wheel.

His power was so dense and integrated with the laws of the world that it carved its own medium of travel, a phantom path of force that carried the strike across an impossible distance through space-time.

It was the ultimate sword-light, driven through berserk power of an apex authority.

The wheel, mighty as it was, bled white fire through its wounds.

But Zayn? He never looked back, walking away like his job was already done.

Thunder louder than worlds colliding tore the black, cascading the sky light open as the spell detonated.

Shards fell like miniature apocalypses, vaporizing seas, carving mountains, ending histories in seconds upon contact.

Every human voice returned which was suppressed because of the Devourer's Domain of The Void losing its grip on reality slightly.

Through it all, Zayn kept walking away, still bloody.

Twin pupils glowing, as if the greatest spell of the Endless Black was nothing more than dust behind him.
