Silas wouldn’t allow himself to die. He had much more to live for, and the System would see him repaired even if he were broken fully from this battle; as long as he was the victor the System would return him to full.
He was effectively one shot, even from something weaker than SCP-106. Silas stood, allowing the pain to throb. He drew the bow, and shot outwards, planning to end this while he still could. The arrow struck true as always.

[60 Piercing Damage!]
The lack of a flinch was just as terrible. And Silas kept his distance. SCP-106 seemed to predict this as it sank into the floor, and began to approach from the wall he was closest to.
Silas reacted fast, slashing at SCP-106 with the rusty longsword and then diving back before getting struck himself. SCP-106 was close to hitting, and looked a bit annoyed at the whiffed attacks. The old man marched on however.
[-3 Durability!]
[58 Slashing Damage!]
Silas looked at the rusty longsword, and noticed just how damaged it was, even without the durability screen telling him just how much he had. And of course, the timers were still there.
He just couldn’t afford to look at them with how SCP-106 was using it’s more anomalous abilities to try to hunt him. Silas decided to rely on the metal gauntlet a little bit, and punch the SCP.
It doesn’t flinch, but he does land a good hit with a run in. He narrowly dodged the swinging of SCP-106’s arm. It seemed dead set on capturing him, and Silas was relying on that. Damage to the steel gauntlet did occur, but it happened evermore.
[-3 Durability!]
[51 Bludgeoning Damage!]
He kept moving, it was terrible to face a foe that didn’t flinch. It was capable of piercing his stomach the same way he had used his sword against Tanner. The sword was destroyed by this thing too.
The only possible memory was erased, with the blood on his hands both his own and Tanner’s now. And this thing’s corrosive material burned it off the gauntlet. The SCP predicted how he was running, and so Silas leapt up into the air.
[Sweeping Strike]
[-50 Mana!]
He cast out a spell, kicking out as he moved past the SCP. The mana condensed around his leg, and it shot outwards, the blue light leaving a slash that cleaved through the flesh of the SCP.
[64 Slashing Damage!]
It didn’t flinch evermore, but it was taking damage. That Silas knew for sure. He had a chance to win this. A chance. SCP-106 was starting to move more erratically similar to him, and he was starting to double over in pain.
The searing in his legs from running for over a minute, the shortness of breath not imagined. The timers faded in and out of view as his vision near the edges faded for a few seconds at a time.
SCP-106 sank into the ground as he made another attack, and Silas tripped and fell. He slid a few meters before getting up with a groan. His legs were wobbly, and they almost failed him. He managed to avoid a shortened life by rolling backwards as SCP-106 attacked him.
He was careful to avoid the corrosive material lining the floor in many places now. Didn’t help that every attack left more and more in those spots. It was boiling the concrete, and he had to be careful to not inhale any of the gasses.
Too much to think of, too much to fight with going on. 19:02:07 ; 4:28:05 were what the timers were on as he dashed back once more. He blinked and shook his head as he stood once more against this impossible to kill foe.
Against the force of destruction he stood toe to toe against. This was also the worst case scenario for the foundation, he was dead set on. The Nine-Tailed Fox were likely to appear when the quest was over, but Silas knew he didn’t have the stamina to fight for 4 and a half more hours.
And SCP-106 knew this too. Silas thought for a second, still more focused on regaining his bearings then actually getting something out of this. He remembered the impossibly heavy bow.
And more specifically, the brightness of it. The room was dim, and that thing was bright as hell. He rushed forward one last time, betting it all on summoning the bow to his hands to blind the beast before striking it.
Silas breathed a sigh of relief as he struck nothing with the bow, but rather how it seemed stunned for a second. Silas punched it square in the face while it was stunned, and stomped on its foot to prevent actually moving it.

His gloved fist connected three different times before he dashed back. The SCP was stunned for 5 more seconds afterwards. Silas smiled a little bit, before he felt his boots turning to sludge.
They weren’t combat boots, but they were still work ready, capable of withstanding steel itself falling from a grand height. But then he thought for a minute and noticed he likely didn’t need them.

Not actually a minute of course. It was only 20 seconds, and even that almost led him to his demise. His body acted without fail, not quite preventing all damage. Some of the dark, corrosive material into his boot.
[56 Bludgeoning Damage!]
[-2 Health!]
The System gave him the knowledge of it besides the pain of the skin peeling away. The sting left him doing a cartwheel away, the wind blowing past Silas as he landed near the center of the room; staying far away from the walls that were also a threat with how SCP-106 dipped down into the ground and emerged from a random direction.
Silas was careful in avoiding SCP-106, who was careful with the hunting. Silas was done for if he was even gripped by this thing, and it knew that too. He jumped up, and cut the hand that reached for him with the rusty longsword.
[-1 Durability!]
[Broken!]
[55 Slashing Damage!]
The system itself screamed at him to move with the fragmenting sword now nothing but dust, evaporating fully into the air. He remembered a little tool he had been given by his friend a while back.
The pistol, with less than 20 shots left. But 20 shots, all dealing 50 damage… Silas had an idea better than before, while evading SCP-106 trying to grip him from the ceiling, from the floors.
It was like a second phase to a boss, his breath getting shorted by the speed of the violence. His lungs felt like they were burning as he summoned the pistol to his hand in place of the sword.
He ensured it was still loaded. It wasn’t going to break like the sword or dagger, but it was likely to run out of ammunition. He didn’t even know if it had mergings with the system, so the 50 Power may be completely worthless.
Only one way to find out. He evaded the hand, and shot where he had next spotted SCP-106, twisting on his heel to evade it. It landed, but it didn’t flinch back; sinking instead similar to how it always did.
[51 Piercing Damage!]
The System whispered to him the truth. This thing was likely near death, maybe needing only 5 more hits from Silas. He was begging to something, anything, for power. Nothing answered but his own body as he evaded a hand from the ceiling.
He shot at it, but it missed and the hole left in the concrete, now heavily decayed from the hand within it, was far too deep for Silas to see. He got ready to summon the Mythical Bow to his hands once more, ready to launch the same counterplay he had a mere minute before.
He wasn’t quite ready to die. And neither was the SCP. As he shone the darkness with the light, and another shot landed. He dashed back and just let the clip empty. Each gunshot rings out, with a light flash. He took some damage from the loud sound, the bang reverberating within the concrete box.
The timer all that remained in his vision for a few seconds, until his vision returned with the timer reaching 18:58:24 ; 4:25:23. The second timer froze for a solid minute, and Silas blinked a few times as his vision returned.
[Quest Completed; Solemn Oath]
The notifications that flooded his vision were genuinely too much for him right then, the pain still there. He wasn’t physically injured any longer, the pain only now mental. The levels filtered in as well, and he didn’t have the energy to read through every single notification.
He let them glow for a full minute. 18:57:21 was the only timer left. He actually won. He let out a dry laugh, as he saw the most important notifications first. His level up ones. He watched as the number increased from 9 to 21 one line at a time.

Silas simply stared at the massive influx of stats. He didn’t gain any new traits from that, but the glowing bow felt perfectly fine in his hands now. Even if the weight of it seemed perfectly fine.
He shuddered to think what else could be thrown at him from this. He denied those thoughts as he scrolled through the reward notifications. His eyes raised in surprise as he looked upon the fifteen items. Many of them were Common, unsurprisingly.

Many of it was worthless, the amount of bread being comparable to a damned bakery. And the weapons were useless too, since the Mythical Weapon was far far better. The weapons would stay in his inventory, but the abilities were curious.
He was grateful to get some resistance, although it wasn’t likely he would get any use of it. Silas knew that for certain. After all, the foundation was going to try to shoot him down, slaughter him or contain him.
He sighed as he sat down besides the wall SCP-106 first exited from, now will never return. He killed it. Simple as that. Silas felt a non-existent collar tighten around his neck as he let himself snooze for a minute or two.
