Butterfly killer - part 2

The sun had already begun to rise. Everyone was asleep, including the old man, who had spent the night waiting on the couch for Morro to return and apologize for what Gules had said to him. But Morro never came.

At the heart of Emberhold stood the king’s castle. Guards filled every corridor—until one of them screamed. Soldiers rushed toward the sound, gathering in horror at what they found.

Gules’s body sat upright on a chair.

He had been dismembered into nine pieces, then grotesquely stitched back together with needles and thread. Strangely, there was almost no blood. His body was still warm, yet it looked as if every drop had been drained from him. Beneath the chair, a massive drawing stained the floor—crafted entirely from blood. A butterfly.

Within minutes, detectives flooded the castle. The news spread like wildfire the old man awoke to the reports. His heart sank. What had happened the night before replayed in his mind. Could Morro really be capable of something like this?

He quickly dismissed the thought. He’s only fourteen, he told himself. A child couldn’t do this.

Yet the unease refused to fade.

Unable to rest, the old man went to Morro’s house. He knocked again and again until the door finally opened.

“What happened yesterday?” the old man asked as he stepped inside and said. “You went with Gules and never came back. You didn’t tell me what happened between the two of you. I was worried.”

Morro rubbed the back of his neck.

“OH—sorry. I didn’t mean to worry you. I promise, nothing bad happened. We just talked for a long time. I paid him, got tired, and came back here to rest… then I fell asleep."

  The old man’s expression darkened.

“Do you know that Gules was found dead?” he asked quietly. “Murdered in the most horrific way imaginable.”

  Morro froze and said:

“W–WHAT? No way! How? When? Where? He left yesterday in good shape and he was happy! I paid him!”

The old man narrowed his eyes and said.

“Where did you get the money?”

  “…Huh?” Morro said.

“Where did you get the money to pay Gules?” the old man pressed. “Aren’t you supposed to be poor? And new to this place?”

Morro stiffened—but then forced himself to relax.

  “I stole it,” he said.

The old man blinked. “You what?”

“Before you helped me… I stole money from someone,” Morro admitted. “I know it was wrong, but I didn’t know if I’d survive. Yesterday, I thought… why not use it?”

The old man studied him for a long moment—then sighed.

“Alright. Don’t do it again,” he said. “I’m going back to sleep. Seeing what whoever did this to Gules… I can’t handle it.”

“I won’t do it again, and if you need anything, you can call me and yes I understand how it feels" Morro said

The old man nodded and turned to leave—then paused.

“They found a note on Gules’s lap,” he said. “They won’t say what it contains. I just thought you should know.”

  Morro tilted his head.

“Hm. It must’ve been horrible. But why do you care so much about him?”

The old man hesitated and said.

“Just… forget it.” Then he left quickly.

Morro closed the door and sat on the couch and saw the news on the TV so he could know what happened and see the so he called "art"

  The reporter spoke gravely.

“The victim, known as Gules—also known as Prince Gules—”

“WAIT WAIT WAIT WHAT. Prince?” Morro whispered.

Shock ran through him. Of all the monsters in the world… a prince? The king’s son?

The newscaster continued, explaining that the note was not handwritten. The killer had cut letters from books and formed words, making handwriting analysis impossible.

  Morro smiled faintly.

Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel.

“Yeah,” he murmured. “That’s aura farming the world will never forget.”

He turned off the television and leaned back.

“Killing the king’s son is like walking straight into death,” he muttered. “What have I done?”

He shook his head and relaxed He already knows he never leaves evidence behind.

Deciding to clear his thoughts, Morro left for the village where he had first arrived.

When he finally reached it, he stopped in confusion.

  The village had changed.

Lights filled the streets. People laughed, danced, and celebrated as if it were a wedding.

  Morro approached a man nervously.

“Um… excuse me. Why is everyone so happy?”

The man burst into laughter.“Oh, my son! You don’t know? The king’s son is dead! He died and went straight to hell—may his soul rot there!”

  Morro recoiled.

  “You’re… celebrating his death?”

  The man laughed harder.

“Celebrate? He slaughtered half of us because we were poor! Look over there!"

Then he pointed at people who were shouting, chanting:

“Kill them all! Blood-stealer! Killer! Kill them!”

  Morro swallowed.

“I… don’t blame you. But who is the blood-stealer killer?”

  The man grinned.

“My son, you live under a rock or what? He is our hero! The one who killed Prince Gules!”

  Morro frowned and said.

“That name is terrible, What about The Butterfly Killer don't you think it's more tuff I mean have you ever seen anyone who draws a butterfly next to his victims"

The man’s eyes lit up and he said:

“What an idea! MY SON, I’m telling everyone!”

The man ran to the people so he could tell them about the name, but they asked who gave him the name, and when he tried to point at Morro.

Morro vanished before the man could finish pointing at him because this might show his true self-the killer.

He wandered alone, keeping his distance. Anxiety always kept him from people. Watching families laugh only reminded him of what he never had.

A child ran into his father’s arms.

  The mother smiled beside them.

Morro cried silently, remembering what he never had in his life. He thought that when coming to this world, everything would change, but it got worse. Raikou is dead, and he is just all alone.

The father noticed and asked gently “Are you alright?”

“…Nothing, you just reminded me of someone. Have a good day.” Morro said

  He walked on.

Later, he overheard two men talking.

“They didn’t even realize we were guards,” one laughed.

“Focus,” the other snapped. "You're here to burn this place down.”

“Me…Me Alone?” one of the guards said

“Yes. You'll have to do it alone the king needs me " the second guard said

"No no no no come on man this is literally my first time doing this job" first guard said

"I said no the king needs me you can do it just get the fuel and burn this village down" the second guard said

"You can't be that important c'mon man" the first guard said

Second guy: "actually I'm one of the 600 royals so now do it alone or else you will be dead"

The first guy when he hears the second guy is one of the 600 royals he gets scared and says he'll do it alone the second guy leaves and when Morro hears all of this he doesn't understand what the second guy meant by the "600 royals" but anyways he already knows who his next kill will be.

Then the first guy leaves, and Morro walks behind him, trying not to be seen by him.

Untill the first guy goes into a restaurant and Morro also enter and sits and stalking the guy and wait until the perfect moment to kill him but it took long Morro got bored and the first guy all he is doing is looking at the menu Morro looks around waiting but then he sees a girl, no not just a girl the most beautiful woman he ever saw.

  White hair

  Yellow eyes

  White skin

Morro falls in love faster than the speed of light he forgets his target and kept imagining their future together, just a happy life he never got but then flashbacks of the same pink haired girl telling him before her death to stay away from everyone, Morro's head hurts him but he couldn't help but think of the future with her but then she gets up and leaves so he gets up too and forget his target and he follows her outside but then he falls... Morro feels pure embarrassment he gets up and then he looks in front of him the woman asking

  "Are you okay"

Morro's face was fully red and he responded

  "Yes I-I'm"

The woman: "Be careful next time"

  Morro: "yeah s-sure I'll be"

Morro tries to control his anxiety, and it works, but not much. Then the woman wants to say something to Morro, but Morro notices the first guy leaving, so Morro says he'll come here again, but he needs to go really quickly.

Then he follows the guy and finds him alone with fuel, so he jumps on the guy and the guy tries to scream or even react, but Morro was faster and slammed his fist at the guy's head, and the guy loses his consciousness.

Morro dragged him away so no one sees them and as Gules Morro tied the guy by his blood power and slapped the man and the man woke up and started screaming but Morro told him that they are literally in the middle of a Forest and no one will hear him so he better answer Morro's question and he would let him live.

The guy, being helpless and scared, nods.

  Morro starts questioning and asks.

Morro: "Who are the 600 royals"

The guy:" I-I-I I can't answer this question"

Morro got a knife from his back and said: "I think I said answer me."

The guy got scared and started talking: "A-ALRIGHT I'LL TALK THE 600 ROYALS ARE THE 600 CHOSEN GUARDS THE KING CHOSE THEM TO BE HIS COLD HEARTED TOYS THAT KILLS WHATEVER ON THEIR WAY AND THAT'S IT I SWEAR"

Morro thanks the guy but still he didn't free him as he said so the guy got more scared and asked:

  "When you'll free me...?"

Morro laughed hard and said, "Free you? You believe I'm a killer and not a liar?"

The guy got scared and screamed but Morro tied his mouth and then he put his two fingers on his forehead and the other hand's two fingers on the guy forehead and suddenly blood came out from the guy from Evey hole in his body the blood did stop the blood coming from his mouth, eyes and nose until...it stops the body doesn't have a single blood in it and then Morro shape the blood into a small ball and then he touches it and it enters his body, Morro thanked the guy for this upgrade for his power and also said he wanted to cut him parts but he doesn't have time rn and leaves the body there.

Then he goes running to the woman but she was nowhere to be seen he searched for her but couldn't find her but when he was about to give up he saw her at the end of the street walking Morro went running to her and asked: "What's your name"

She feels weird about why he ran all of this just to ask this but she answered

"My name is Elaris, what is your name too"

Morro wanted to jump out of happiness when she asked him his name but he controlled it and said:

"My name is Morro, the unique name you have is so COOl"

Elaris: "oh thanks you know I'd wish we could talk but I have to go"

Morro said okay, but c'mon, will he actually just leave her? NO OFC then he follows her step by step, making sure she doesn't notice, and then they arrive at a house. She entered it with keys, but Morro went to the window to see what she was doing, but then..

Someone hits Morro from behind so hard that Morro falls and loses his consciousness, and the last thing he saw was Elaris, holding a sniper.

  “Stalking girls?” she said coldly.
