43 - Up High

"No way, you HAVE to wear it!" Jake said with absolute determination.

Seeing that they couldn't argue with Jake, the three of them reluctantly put on the protective suits.

"That's the spirit," Jake said, clapping his hands and pressing the remote control in his hand.

Visors automatically popped out of their helmets, blocking all vision and activating the soundproofing, so they could only hear the voices from the comm channel.

"Don't panic, everyone. When we reach the jump point, your visors will open and the soundproofing will turn off," Jake announced.

The three were completely bewildered, never having seen so many bells and whistles on a Drop Tower.

First, protective suits, then blocked vision and sound.

Kyle's heart was racing faster and faster. He already sensed that this Drop Tower was definitely fishy, definitely not your average Drop Tower!

"I'm out, I want off!" Kyle shouted.

"Heh heh!" Liam let out a strange laugh, yelling, "Now you want off? Too late! Nobody steals my fun! Let me personally send these three brave souls to the sky!"

He was the happiest of the bunch!

Last time, he was the one getting screwed, but this time he was the one doing the screwing!

The more he cried last time, the more maniacally he laughed now!

Liam led Chad and Cindy onto the helicopter.

As for Kyle, he was still struggling desperately.

For a moment, Liam really didn't know what to do with him.

Mike and Ethan exchanged a smile, stepped forward, grabbed Kyle's arms, and pinned him down like they were escorting a prisoner, helping Liam shove Kyle onto the helicopter.

Liam excitedly shouted, "Stop yelling. Today, even if you scream your lungs out, no one's coming to save you!"

After the three buddies had forced Kyle onto the helicopter.

Jake moved with lightning speed, closing and locking the helicopter door in one smooth motion!

The whole action was swift and decisive, without any hesitation.

"OK!" Jake clapped his hands, striding into the control room, watching the monitor screen, and starting the helicopter!

  "Whirr!"

The helicopter's rotors spun rapidly, whipping up a gust of wind, slowly ascending into the sky.

Watching this scene, Liam suddenly felt a little sentimental, saying, "That's how weak, pitiful, and helpless I was back then. I didn't know anything and was sent up there, and by the time I realized something was wrong, there were already clouds beneath my feet. I almost lost control of my bowels."

Inside the helicopter, Kyle thrashed around, trying to break free from his seat, his screams piercing and desperate, like a pig being led to slaughter.

Chad was getting annoyed by the noise. He stated, "Kyle, what are you yelling about? You're afraid of a Drop Tower that's only this high?"

Cindy nodded, laughing, "Are all you extreme sports people such scaredy cats?"

Kyle cried and pleaded, "You have to trust my sixth sense as a man, something's definitely wrong here!"

Just then, the helicopter had risen to a sufficient altitude.

Jake's gentle voice echoed in the comm channel.

"Dear guests, you have reached the target height. You are about to have your helmets' visors and soundproofing removed."

"Please prepare yourselves and jump within five minutes, or it will delay the other guests, otherwise, we will take coercive measures!"

"Is it finally starting?" Cindy rubbed her hands together, already impatient.

Chad puffed out his chest, with a faint smile and said with great importance, "Kyle, you are still young, after all, you have not experienced too much. When you reach my age, you should know that no matter what happens, you must not panic!"

As Chad spoke, the visor on his face slowly opened.

Looking at the helicopter cabin in front of him, listening to the whistling wind in his ears.

  Chad was stunned.

"Where are we?" Chad looked around like a headless chicken.

"We...we're in the sky," Cindy muttered blankly, leaning against the helicopter porthole.

Kyle slumped into his chair powerlessly, covering his face. "I knew it, I knew it, I knew it wasn't that simple!"

"The sky? Aren't we playing Drop Tower? Why are we in the sky?" Chad stretched out his hands, frantically shaking Kyle, and panicking, "Kyle, Kyle, Kyle, say something!"

Kyle glanced up at him, saying feebly, "Didn't you say it? No matter what happens, first you have to calm down."

  "I have calmed down."

  "How about you?"

"Damn it, we're in the sky, how can you still ask me to calm down?" Chad glanced at the scenery outside the porthole and felt a rush of blood to his head. His blood pressure instantly broke through the roof, and he felt terrible.

"Holy crap." Chad cursed, "Who told me the Drop Tower was normal?"

"Is this what a normal Drop Tower looks like?"

"I want to punch the living daylight, the dog that doesn't understand, no one tells the truth!"

"What should we do now?" Cindy asked, turning her head. "Are we really going to jump from here?"

Although she liked the thrill of the moment!

Especially the excitement of having death on her tail!

But it didn't mean she wasn't afraid of death, knowing that the front was a deadly pit of fire and still insisted on jumping into it!

"I have the old and the young, you want to seek death, don't take me with you!" Chad hugged the small chair under him tightly, watching the crowd vigilantly.

"Wait a minute." Kyle's spirit suddenly lifted, and a light bulb popped out on his forehead. "Why do we have to jump? Just sit here and wait for the helicopter to take us down, won't it?"

"That's right." Chad's eyes lit up, slapping his thigh hard. "I didn't have a choice before, once on the thief's boat, you can't get off, but now we have a choice, I want to be a normal person!"

"Let's do as you say!" Cindy nodded.

Even she knew that jumping down below was a dead end!

Time passed by little by little.

  Five minutes passed quickly.

Jake's voice came as scheduled and rang in everyone's ears through the loudspeaker again.

"Eh, my little cuties, why haven't you jumped yet?"

"I've already said the ugly words first, if five minutes pass and you haven't jumped down yourself, I'm going to turn on the coercive measures!"

"Have a good trip, I'll be waiting for you on the ground!"

The three listened to Jake's gentle voice, but their hearts had begun to tingle and feel threatened.

"Coercive measures?" Chad yelled into the earpiece, "Explain it clearly, what coercive measures are you talking about?"

Kyle looked without colour and shouted, "Just be human, please!"
