  This new announcement of Furan Corp had set off an avalanche.

  Players all over the world were looking forward to this new expansion of the Fade-In MMORPG giant, NeoPangea Online.

  For the last few years more than 1 billion players had started playing and enjoying themselves in the beauty of this fantastic continent, enjoying a life they otherwise could never have imagined.

  Therefore, the interest in the expansion was enormous.

  Players all over the world were waiting breathlessly as the date for the promised expansion approached. If at school or at work, voices discussing about it would be loud, exciting everyone around.

  [New York City, in a room in the 4th floor of a 22 story skyscraper]

  A girl was lying on her bad with closed eyes. Her long eyelashes were tickling her skin slightly.

  She had opened the windows to let the sounds and smells of the city drift in. The building she was in was facing the central park, so the oily smell of cars and technology that polluted the air was thinned out a little bit.

  She was breathing deeply but quietly, her chest moving slightly whenever she took in the air from outside, trying to grasp all of the millions of pieces of information her senses perceived from outside.

  She was listening to the sounds floating over from the window as she blended out the sounds coming from within the building, the distant roaring of car engines, even some planes and motorcycles were among them. The ringing of bicycle bells, the crackling sounds the wheels made on the park’s pebbly roads. She imagined herself sitting on a park bench, watching over the buzzing of the city around her. She was imagining the birds hop from branch to branch excitedly as they tried to feed their chicks, the squirrels chatting nervously as they stared down at passing people holding snacks enviously and of course the kids playing all around the park noisily. Be it playing tag along the greeneries, splashing water at each other in the pond nearby or even pouting over not getting what they wanted.

  What she would give to be able to join them…

  She smiled as she imagined that scene with herself in it, playing catch with the other kids. Then she got startled back into reality as someone knocked on her door.
