  Ezra didn’t rush into training.

  That was the first choice he made after the forest, after the blood, after the thing the System had stamped into him.   Ultimate hybrid immortality: physical invulnerability to ordinary weapons; survival dependent on feeding and magical constraints. Reserved for the absolute apex of bloodline mastery.

  The tree pulsed one final time and quieted. Ezra closed the window and sat in the dim room, feeling the weight of the list like a ledger: what he already had, and all the things the System insisted he earn. There were no shortcuts, no instant overrides—just thresholds and slow, patient work.

  He flexed his fingers, tasted the dust of effort on his tongue, and steadied himself for the only path that felt honest: practice until the body answered, day after day, until the locked nodes recognized his persistence.

  Training wasn’t glamorous. It was repetition, small failings, the cold logic of adaptation. And if the System rewarded survival, then survival would be the measure of his worth.

  He stood, wiped sweat from his brow, and began again.
