'Woah, what's this?'
Mia skimmed over the four options and dramatically gasped.
'So, this... thing... is letting me regress to possibly before the apocalyptic chaos? Or maybe not that far back but just a few years... well, who knows really.'
She gazed around the white space and started speaking to no one in particular.
'Hmm... You're not planning to tell me anything more, do you? We're missing a lot of details here, you know.'
There was no response. Only silence.
'Tsk. Of, flipping, course.'
Mia grumbled inwardly.
'Anyway, if that's the case, every big and small incidents will repeat. The gates, the deaths. And I'll have to fight that last boss again. Which sounds horrible. But kinda tempting...'
Images flickered through as she recounted her devastating battle with the SSS-level monster. She compared, reassessed, then choreographed a whole sequence of motions and course of actions in her mind. It almost felt like she was still there, and it got her blood going.
'If I get another chance, I'm sure I could kill him without dying. Yeah, I can totally do it. Should I just...-'
Mia mentally slapped herself before those thoughts went any further.
'No, bad girl. Don't be stupid. You're not some barbaric idiot. You're better than this.'
She groaned at the unhinged side of herself. There had been too many times where she conciously let it took over reason. The adrenaline rush gave her a sense of fulfillment, and she often craved them, even at the cost of her life. This weird trigger helped her stayed hyperfocused during intense fights, but whenever she was in that state, all she could see was red. Thankfully, even after all those years, she was still able to maintain her sanity which preserved her humanity to a certain extent.
'... Let's just pick something else. One that won't involve other people. Oh right, I was wondering about this.'
System: [soul#**********] has requested [termination].
'Is it what I think it is...?'
System: [soul#**********]'s data will be completely deleted from the archive. Proceed?
Mia hesitated. A pang of terror came over her, which was a first in all of her lifetime. If her subordinates knew what kind of trouble she was getting herself into, they'd probably shook their heads disapprovingly. Obviously, the crazy witch was always getting herself in hot waters. But contrary to how people saw her, although she often seemed rash and impulsive, it was quite the opposite. Mia was never oblivious to the consequences of her actions, she just hardly cared. And currently, her curiosity had just won against her own survival instincts.

'So... I guess I can die twice! Huh. Who knew.'
The moment it dawned on her, Mia's visions blurred.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
Mia screamed in agony as a horrifyingly deafening high pitched screeh rang violently throughout the white void. Her conciousness had began to fade in and out of it, all the while, she could somehow felt her very soul was torn apart piece by piece, smouldered and slowly disintergrated. It was as if her whole being was repeatedly crushed to bits.

Nevertheless, regardless of the ache, fear and oncoming death looming over her, there was no regret. Because as stupid as it may sound, she simply wanted to know. Now that she knew, it was time to face the end. It was time to truly die.
To her surprise, by some sort of miraculous intervention however, she didn't.
System: [soul extermination] was nullified.
System: Error. Unable to proceed.
System: A high ranking [soul] has negated the operation.
The ringing stopped. The pain disappeared. Gradually, pieces of herself were mended back together until she felt whole again. Finally, her blurred visions sharpened and everything returned as it was before.
'Holy fuck! I'm never doing that again! Shit hurts more than getting punched through the stomach!'
She growled at the empty void.
'You could've at least warned me or something! I thought it would be like a simple delete button! Flipping hell...'
System: Choose to proceed.
Mia resentfully stared at the screen, exhausted and speechless.
'... wow. Hah! Just... seriously. What a cold fucker. The least you could do is let me recover for a bit before throwing me this same shit.'
Honestly, the whole distant and mysterious vibe that the system had going on was starting to tick her off. Still, whether she was upset or not, there was no way of escaping it. Surrendering to her fate, she begrudgingly looked at the list of options in front her.
[Transmigration]
[Reincarnation]
[Regression]

'... I don't know what the hell happened to that last one, but I hope it hurts.'
Mia chuckled and quickly moved on. She realized it was too silly and childish to get angry at a system programmed to work as it was intended.
'Aaanyyywaaay... I don't really have much choices now. Here's a million dollar question though, what exactly is transmigration?'
Mia had essentially discounted it right off the bat since she was utterly clueless. She had never encountered the word itself in any way or form, which meant no matter how hard she wrecked her missing brain, she couldn't possibly deduce something out of nothing. Usually, when it came down to it, Mia had some sort of idea or expectations before making a decision. She couldn't stand the uncertainty of dealing with the unknown and be rendered completely helpless. Naturally, by process of elimination, her options narrowed down to only one.

Mia hummed curiously. The spreadsheet reminded her of a childhood memory she was quite fond of.
'Strength, agility, intelligence... yeah, this sounds familiar. It's like that MMO game I used to play until shit hits the fan and I had to grow up and do grown up things, like beheading real trolls and stuff. Ah, those were simpler times.'
Mia shook off her nostalgia and redirected her attention towards the problem at hand. She readily put two and two together, then promptly contemplate her best move.
'I should definitely prioritize the first three stats. Mana is important too but I could always use potions or something.'
Based on her abundant battle experiences, Mia was aware of the optimum strategy needed in order to complement her fighting style. She was convinced that this would be a walk in the park, but was sorely mistaken when she got caught up on another vague word.
'Darn... I know everything here except charm.'
She understood what the word could mean, but unsure of how, specifically, it will affect her. She mentally scratched her head, trying to come up with an answer. After some contemplation, she figured it was better to have a mostly balanced stats.
'I don't really care for it. But having a good amount of charm might prove to be useful later. Like, bargaining with shopkeepers and getting better deals. Or making people pay attention to what you say. Yeah, stuff like that.'
In her fantastical imagination, Mia pictured herself as an advocate of peace, negotiating between countries using her amazing charm and perfect eloquence.
'Or maybe I should build a country, become a tyrannical ruler and conquer the new world!'
She giggled with giddy like a kid receiving expensive presents on her birthday. Her inside was bubbling with excitement.
'Aaaaand~ there! All done.'

Mia was about to make a snarky comment, when darkness swiftly consumed her.
Those were the final parting words from the Soul System, yet she will not have any recollection of it nor what transpired in that place, where time and space ceased to exist.
Soon after, a beautiful baby girl was born.
