The journey into Henan province the next morning passed uneventful. Immediately Zhao Bing reached the city, he bid the captain farewell and tracked down the nearest transportation to Anui-lang province and booked himself the next available flight, which was to be late in the afternoon. On his way out of the airport, he decided to explore the city, the fact that he had dropped of his nephew and booked his flight gave him a cushion of safety to indulge in the sights and sounds of a new environment. In exploring the city, Zhao Bing declined to take a cab, not because he had no money to spend, choosing rather to use his two feet, it would take more time but that was the point and it would limit his exploration radius to the enviroment around the airport but that too was okay, his main goal was getting to the university safely.
He passed by residential areas, squares, bridges and even some sky rise buildings made of glass and even made it to a mall and spontaneously decided to explore its interior. The inside was modestly big, able to contain one of those escalator stairs. He passed by stores after stores before coming across an advert board. Coincidentally the advert was displaying an invitation. The Huirigi institute teaching hospital was hosting its bicentennial and was hosting a grand ceremony and it was today. Zhao Bing thought about going to the party, he felt it would be a good place to while away the rest of his time in the province. Now with a plan he discontinued his exploration and window shopping and left the mall, breathing in, he extended his hand and hailed a taxi.
The environment of the Huirigi institute was a cross between a hospital and a university. The place had a modern feel to it but some buildings kept their ancient looks, on purpose Zhao Bing guessed because they were ancient but clean. Small nicely designed signs guided him to where the party was going on it was in one of the more ancient buildings. The signs led to a massive hall, even with the plethora of guests, tables and decorations, the hall still managed to feel airy especially because the ceiling was no where close to the floor, there was a whole floor, observable deck and all between the floor and the ceiling.

Zhao filtered through the crowd, looking for a free table he could sit in. He hadn’t dressed for the occasion but he fit right in there hadn’t been any dress code for visitors.

The audience burst out with in whispers, some people from the high table seeing this smiled. A man stood from the high table, he was an ancient, pale man with white hair cut short and a white beard.
“I know, I know. I am not the president. I know many of you would have liked to meet her, it is quite unfortunate that she has not returned from her latest sabbatical leave, according to her last message, it has reached quite a critical phase, so she sends her appologies. Now that has been cleared up, i do sincerely welcome all of you to Huirigi institute’s bicentennial celebration. It wasn’t easy getting here, it was a lot, took a lot from you all, the staffs, the students, even the patients to bring the institution to this point. Thanks to all our collective effort, we have managed to guide this institution to her bicentennial jubilee and we are not going to stop now, we hope with your continued support to grow this institution through more and more jubilees. It was a pain but also an honor to work hands in hands with you all, very amazing people this far. Please enjoy the rest of today’s ceremony.”
The vice president walked back to his seat and the Mc continued with the ceremony, there was more speeches, even a demonstration and a host of other activities till late into the evening.
