Chapter 1: Ep. 1 - Departure, I

Opening my eyes, I saw several people. Some were human and some were just animals. There was a literal Alligator standing up, wearing a suit. I stood up and looked behind me. There were several stores but their names were written in an unknown language. I was sitting in the back of the terminal. The windows were completely black with only a few stars being seen out of them.

I looked at myself, my body was completely back to normal! I was wearing my green collared shirt and my black hoodie prior to me dying. There were no bloodstains on me either… How did I exactly die?

I noticed that, next to me was a person sitting down, his eyes were anxious as his blonde hair was very messy. He was holding something in his hand and looked intensely at the television screen in the front of us.

  The television screen said, [Today’s Lucky draw is… 3! 8! 4!]

The man’s eyes widened in hope, the Television continued. It sort of seemed like a lottery ticket of some sorts. [For the Special number for the day… they are 3,5,3, and 9!]

Everyone in the terminal looked disappointed as the lottery tickets fell from their hands. From the looks of it, they all looked very nervous and tired.

I spoke to the person next to me. “Hello?” I gazed at him, and he looked back. “Do you know where we are at the moment?”

“You must be new here. We are currently at the Entrance of the Interface. My name is Colin Darithan, it is nice to meet you.”

“I am Han Jae-Shik, pleasure too. Can I ask what the lottery was on the television screen there?”

“It’s a daily drawing for a ticket for the plane. We can’t get on unless we have a ticket that makes us eligible to get on. Of course, People with Great Plotter contracts can get on because of the Plotation connection.”

Theatrical Vision did mention that I could easily enter the Interface easily if I had signed with him. Maybe these were the people who were unlucky and didn’t receive some sort of support and needed a way to get in.

“When is the next plane coming?”

“In a few minutes. The planes usually come weekly, so we have a lot of time to get tickets. However…” A gloomy look fell on his face. “Most of us have been here for several years. The lottery is very hard to win.”

“How long have you been here?”

“About 4 years, give or take a few… Where did you come from? Did you come with Lee Nari, from Hyeonghok?”

The planet’s name was familiar to me, it was the korean name for the planet, Mars. I remember it when I was memorizing all the names of planets when I was really eager to be an astronaut. It seems like many of the people came from different worlds, worlds different from mine. Seems like extraterrestrials do exist!- but they’re human like me… at least most of them.

  “No, I am from Earth.”

A sudden silence went through Colin’s face. His jaw widened as his face was full of shock.

The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

  “Is something wrong…?” I asked.

“Y-Your from Great E-Earth? T-The progenitor planet of all worlds?!” He yelled, very loudly.

Suddenly the terminal went quiet. Many people were looking at me and smirked. An ominous feeling filled my body. I gulped.

I always hated it when I got attention. I always got attention from my parents for being special and getting a gift from the god of photographic memory. I just hated it. I hated every ounce of attention I got.

Particularly, when my parents showed me attention, it was only because of my failures not my accomplishments. I had always disliked them for that, and I was finally at peace when I found out that they had died. All the pressure was then lifted off of me.

But a death was a result of the pressure being lifted. Was death necessary? No. Absolutely not.

A woman started approaching me and Colin. She was wearing a ripped up, and dirty white hoodie as her long hair flowed. She must have been the woman Colin mentioned to me who was from the planet ‘Hyeongok’. She is Lee Nari.

「 Many of the creatures in Terminal #H34 know of your Presence!」

「Many creatures in Terminal #H34 are hostile against you! 」

I started to sweat more and more as the people in the Terminal looked at me with predatory eyes. Something about being from Earth was definitely special.

“Why is being from Earth such a big deal..? They all are staring at me weirdly.” I whispered to Colin.

“It’s because of the Angels, or you may know them as ‘Author’s of Earth 'who created the very existence of our planets. They also created the very existence of Great Plotters since Great Plotters are basically protagonist’s from the worlds created on earth by the Angels.”

“Are angels like me, a human? Or are they like an actual Angel with wings?”

“Yes, they are humans. But they are the primordial humans, not special ones like me and that woman in front of you.”

I suddenly looked up and saw the imposing figure of the woman. Getting a glimpse at her face, she seemed rusted up, but was pretty. The light above her head caught my eyes.

“You're the so-called Primordial Human? You look exactly like my brother! Why do people praise you!? You're so… Normal!”

Her comments reminded me of a few people in my life who made it a living hell. However, I didn’t say anything back and looked directly back at Colin.

“Why are they suddenly approaching me?”

  “They want to kill you.”

“What!? Why?” I suddenly panicked and my voice was raised. I could see everyone smiling as if they were about to gang up on me and beat me up.

“It’s because they want to be a primordial human too- killing you will transform their species to Primordial human. You are in danger. If you don’t run soon many of the people will kill you. I know a good hiding spot!”

In a rush, I got up from the seat as did Colin. We both started rushing toward the escalator to go onto the second floor.

  -Get him!

-I will be the one to kill him!

  -He is dead meat!

All the voices were being heard from my ears as I ran. Lee Nari was slowly chasing me too. Many of the people were chasing me to kill me. But why was Colin helping?

Suddenly, the contract panel opened up once more.

  「Signing deadline: 6 hours. 」

Shit… how the hell was it already 6 hours!? How did 18 hours pass by so quickly!

Colin then turned to a corner and kept on running until we didn’t even know where we were. Many of the people and creatures of the airport were running around like crazy. All their murmur about me being killed was being heard by both of us.

  “Why are you helping me?”

Colin hesitated for a moment. “Not a lot of people know this but… Primordial humans have the ability to take other people with them on the plane, regardless if the other person has a ticket or not. I know you’ve been contacted by a Great Plotter already. Everyone does.”

So he wanted me to get him on the plane. Everyone in the world is selfish. But, there was literally nobody else I could even take with me.

“I know it’s rude to ask such a thing and to wish for it… but I just can’t take it anymore! I’ve been stuck in this damn Airport for 83 years!”
