Nerezza
An overwhelming sense of déjà vu swirled around Nerezza. It felt like she’d been sent back to three days before accepting letters from Dru. This time though Dru sat across from her at the breakfast table choosing a muffin from a bowl. She never doubted anymore that she could share anything with Dru but that didn’t mean she always felt like sharing everything with him. The letter caused a bit too complicated of emotions and she didn’t even know what it said yet.
She kept her face artfully blank and opened it. It was an invitation to meet with Guardian Showl at his estate. The invitation left it open for her to bring any who might make her feel more comfortable and he would not bat an eye at any defenses she might come with.

Nerezza wondered if he offered her protections because of his magic or the Order’s request.
He didn’t seem to be one to treat his magic as evil and he didn’t seem the type to distrust the Order despite their incompetence. It didn’t matter, she decided she’d always trusted herself to be able to handle most anything. Her bigger concern was she didn’t know how she wanted to answer.
She was known and prided herself in her quick-to-the-point responses. Yet for this response she couldn’t be quick or to the point so she placed it off to the side and went through a meal with Dru who talked for hours on his studies and the different things he was building and the current placement of Joivia.
Finally, she sent a confirmation of her lone attendance.
In the end she couldn’t deny the need to know if the family that had given her hope existed or if everything she’d been built was on the foundation of a lie.
