Chapter Twenty Seven, Lord Father! Class Evolution.
...
...
His eyes fluttered open, awakening to the exact view he intended. He could feel his body waking, and he let his awareness fall into Aeternum.
He found himself leant against a tree on the forest floor. He took in the view for a moment, breathing the fresh and energizing air into his spiritual lungs.
"Awake I see!" A voice came from the side, forcing a smile onto his face.
"I have to admit, it was nice not having to hear your voice." He glanced towards the sound, his eyes meeting with Ana's.
"Whatever you say, blah blah..." She pressed herself off of the tree she was leaning against, walking towards Jora, who was just now finding his footing.
He wiped the accumulated dirt off of his gi pants, before looking back up at his partner.
"I couldn't find you for a while. I thought you would be in your mind, your skill mingling with your mana or something like that..." She started, "But when I ventured to the soul space, I found myself unable to enter. Telling me that, that is indeed where you were. And now I can see the fruit of the entire day you spent there, sleeping your life away." Her arms were folded, and her bare foot tapped against the ground.
Her robe fluttered in the wind, and Jora thought it was a nice view.
"Stop looking at me like that, weirdo." She snarled, "You took a day to form Sword Stance, Adept Swordsmanship, Adept Daggerwork, Corrosive Claw, Mana Burst Sphere, Quick Chant, Speed Reading, Cold Heart the Talent, Cold Heart the Skill, Cooking, Novice Tracking, Shadow Dweller, Dark Blessed, Shadow Walk, and Cross Slash." Ana listed, swiping her finger in the air, obviously scrolling through Jora's skill sheet.
"And you came back with that too?" Her finger pointed.
Jora glanced over his shoulder, a smile growing on his face as he did so.
"Oh yeah..." He spoke, reaching behind himself.
A sword was sheathed in his body, angled in his back in a way that allowed him to easily pull it out with his right hand.
And he did so, unsheathing the sword from his where his spine would have been if he carried an entirely human physiology.
Alas, he was partly slime.
"I've come to call it... Black Blade." He placed the sword in his hands, holding it like it was a relic.
"Seriously?" Ana sighed.
"What? Bad name?" He asked.
"Terrible." She scoffed.
"A soul weapon though... Nice. Scales with your power, but it looks like it's pretty weak right now. Too much output or too powerful of a target would shatter it, and that would hurt your soul just a bit... It's not made with enough soul energy for its destruction to be anything detrimental, especially not to you." She analyzed.
"Good returns?" Jora tilted his head, sheathing the weapon. He stepped forward, Ana opening her mouth.
"Very." She replied, "Not to mention to what your [Sleep] skill did." She added.
Jora raised a brow, placing his arm around Ana, the latter scowling in response.
"What did it do?" He questioned while she cursed him beneath her breaths. The two, turned, stepping forward towards a location Jora intended to visit.
"Two levels, plus a surplus in Health and mana production... It was like, you turned on fifteen fucking back-up generators..." She shook her head. "You produced enough soul energy, enough Experience, to level up twice, and then there was a vast amount that went towards your Soul skills, boosting their abilities... I was able to get the time dilation in here up to thirty times speed... Between the few days you rested up our first dilation, and the day you just slept now? This world has progressed two whole months... And I hope to get it up to some years per day soon... That way things in here can start giving massive returns by the day..." Ana's hands were moving while they talked, her shoulders raising, eyebrows fluctuating.
She was rather animated with her words, but he did not mind.
He only took her in his arm, and led the two towards a place that had changed since he was first here.
They passed by many animals, Rabbits that bounced through the bushes, and deer that seemed too afraid to get near. Slimes slithered past, some bouncing around as well, and he smiled at that sight.
The two approached a clearing, Jora only smugly smiling, while Ana continued to yap her mouth away.
But they were intercepted before they even arrived.
"Lord Father!" A small voice sounded before them, making Jora pause their trot.
He looked downwards, his eyes landing upon a small figure. She wore gi pants like his, and her chest was wrapped around with weathered cloth string, perhaps to make her chest look more like his? That was what he got from it at least.
"Lord Mother as well! Both of you! How nice!" The girl smiled, all of her teeth showing.
"Hello there Joriah! Long time no see!" Jora smiled.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"No! It's only been a couple of months Lord Father... I know you have your duties to attend to... Creator stuff! Seeing you is a blessing, I am proud to say I am the first to interact with you since our birth!" Her smile deepened, a devilish grin appearing on her face.
Her hand covered her mouth, trying to stifle the laughter.
She seemed to be rather mischievous.
"Ah! Lord Father! Lord Mother!" Another voice sounded.
"Nice to see you too, Eltaras." Ana adorned a warm smile, making Jora chuckle. He glanced between the lady and his young spitting image.
He wasn't used to her being, nice...
The young boy stepped forward, equipped in gi pants just like he and Joriah. He bowed, Jora nodding in affirmation.
"I am happy to be able to see the both of you!" He grinned, slamming his fist into his palm.
"Lord Father! Watch a spar between me and youngest Joriah! We have been training well!" Eltaras snickered.
Jora raised his brows, noting Ana's small scoff at the words of the boy.
"Hello, Lord Father."
"Hello, Lord Mother."
Two more stepped into the fray, Ana'fae and Kuta respectively. They did their bows, greeting the two the same.
Jora could only smile.
This is what he had come here for.
"A spar? How interesting. I'll watch." He replied.
Instantly, two faces lit up, and as did four hearts.
"Okay!"
...
...
...
...
A smile was plastered upon her face. Her chest heaved up and down. She inhaled, and exhaled. Sweat profusely sweat down the side of her face.
But she had accomplished her goal.
Troydan and Annaliese lagged behind by only one level, they too, would reach B-rank soon!
"I...Did..." She breathed heavily, glancing back towards the two Ursa corpses.
Annaliese stood tall, a contrast to Elizabeth's hunched back.
Troydan leant against one of the fallen corpses, trying to catch his breath as well.
"You leveled up Liz... Use it. Let's see how powerful you become!" Annaliese smiled, wiping the sweat off of her face.
Realistically, she should've been the most beaten up, but she had some imaginary will that let her charge forward through any endeavor. Elizabeth always admired that.
"Okay!" She replied, lifting herself up straight, she unequipped her spell casting gauntlets, tossing them into her spatial storage. Her hand slipped into the purple portal, retrieving one of the crystal shards.
Both Annaliese and Troydan came to pay attention to her, standing nearby, but still being aware of their surroundings.
Elizabeth stared at the crystal for a moment, her smile never fading.
"Here we go!" Her smile grew, her teeth showing.
And she crushed the crystal.
Instantly, it's energies flowed into her body, the white mist of mana digging into her skin, and entering everywhere it could. She was assaulted by magic, white streams of light flowing into her eyes, ears, and mouth.
"Gnarly..." Annaliese muttered.
Elizabeth's head flung backwards, her hands opening wide, her body being overfilled with energy.
"But it's working its magic..." Troydan added in.
And then, all of the energy assimilated into Elizabeth's being.
Her eyes flashed open, her consciousness returning, while the residual energy ambiently lifted off of her body.
With her mind back in the real world, she ignored that screen.
She already knew what Class she chose... There were a multitude available to her, and she picked the obvious choice.
From the second she unlocked her second Talent, she had gained access to a Hidden Attribute. One that was called, Capacity.
Not many knew of that fact, besides for the big three. They were the only she felt truly comfortable telling, the only she felt she had to tell. She didn't tell Troydan and Annaliese out of fear of the two putting themselves further from her than they already had.
But, with this new hidden stat, she knew she was destined for more.
Putting one point into Capacity was the same as putting a point into Vitality, and two into Intelligence! Her growth outshined her peers now, for surely. She had been dumping a decent portion of her Attribute points into Capacity since she unlocked it, about two or three per level.
Of course, she had to maintain her Strength, Agility, and Wisdom... And from what information she had gained from the leaders of Tilmont, it wasn't very smart to just dump everything into Capacity...
Points in Capacity simply was like widening the container. The container on her Health and her Mana, would grow, with each point. She could hold more.
And if she did choose to hold more, the weight she carried would increase.
With low Vitality, and low Intelligence, her pools would become too heavy for her own body. She would wither away and die if she did not increase Vitality. Her mana would leak out and burst out of her body like a broken damn, if she did not raise her Intelligence.
It was the balance of the world.
She smiled, being thankful for the Hidden Attribute.
Because with it, she was able to dig deeper into a primal variant of spatial magic.
"Voidspace Sorceress." She spoke, Troydan's eyes lighting up, Annaliese's brows furrowing.
"What is-"
"Voidspace?! Seriously!? Unique?" Troydan asked, rubbing his forehead, amazement on his face.
"Right! Unique! I've got a Unique Class!" Elizabeth smiled. "Eight AP per level, and my Space Magic has evolved!" She was ecstatic.
Rightfully so.
"I now have level four, Novice Voidspace Magic!" She clapped, "Oh and I have a new skill called Void Walk, and then there's Void Refinement, and a couple more..." She bragged, jokingly.
Her two friends smiled.
"Okay shut it! We only need one more level!" Annaliese raised her finger, turning her head away and closing her eyes.
"Let's get these Class Evolutions, then we can really go over each others powers, together!" She added.
Troydan smiled, "Yeah... Sure, let's hurry it up. Missing home a little bit, it's been four days..."
