120. To Gaze Upon The Moon

And of the very same, continuing...

Did the rotating jaw fish merely stay in place...

All as the young lad did look upon it for but a short while...

  Before continuing onwards...

  Indeed.

  Perhaps a mere while...

  Hmmm...

No, perhaps a bit longer than a mere while later, would the very beast soon find itself with prey in its very mouth.

  However, until then, I say...

  Would it wait.

  Indeed.

Even so, did the young lad continue upon his walk...

  All silent, I would say...

  Yes...

'Twas a most silent walk for the lad, for not a sound came to him or from him, I would say.

Well, 'twas not as though the young lad did fail to hear what was here and there...

  Yes...

His very talents allowed him so.

However and even so, did he continue his walk...

  Aimlessly, one would say...

Well, not fully, I would argue.

Why, the very lad did know the way back.

  Indeed.

And of the very same did he continue in this silent walk...

Eyes wide open, I would say...

Why, did he soon after spot a small group of rubberits, yes...

The very pink fellows, I would say.

  Name: Rubberits/ rubber rabbits.

Description: A rubber rabbit, I would say. I do believe I have already done my part in explaining some parts of this beast. Indeed. I shall simply add that it is of the colour pink, although some may be white, others black, some even brown. Indeed. the very majority are pink. Of the same is its entire body of, well... you are fully aware.

Behaviour: The very beast acts as one would expect of a rabbit, yes. A very finicky fellow it is. Why, the very monster refuses to eat a large number of things. Even so, is it most non-aggressive, most often merely peacefully feeding upon the things it would deign worthy of its most interesting appetite.

Ability: This beast does hold a most interesting ability of its own. Indeed. I did say this all before, did I not? Even so, does it find itself of good hearing, to sense things from far, far away, to say nothing of the very beast's ingenuity in survival, as well as its very ability to flee much faster than many would suspect. Indeed.

Threat level: E. I must say, that the only real threat from this beast is merely the time wasted catching it, should you fail to be able to kill it. Indeed.

Fact: Some children do indeed keep one as a pet. Most obviously for many a reason. 'Tis not the only pet children do have. Why, it does require a very specific diet, I would say. All the same is it for some children a prized pet. Indeed.

All nuzzled up together, all at the trunk of a tree.

  Indeed.

Why, they looked almost as though a ball, one would say...

  Sleeping oh-so peacefully.

And all the same, did the very young lad merely look on for a very moment, before passing along...

Not a worry, I would say...

Why, the very lad would simply continue his walk...

  Across the forest floor...

  As before.

The young lad did then look to the very sky, all the same, blank-eyed as before.

And of it, did he see the moon...

Full in its beauteous blue glory.

  Yes.

With all the stars shining about...

Truly, an oh-so romantic night for most anyone.

Why, would perhaps someone somewhere be well on his way to make a proposal to his beloved.

  Perhaps.

All the same, did the young lad merely look onwards...

Fully undaunted by the very things around him...

And thereof, fully taken by his own meditations.

  Indeed.

Why, the very lad did remain there for quite some time.

Looking unto the moon blankly and continuously.

Not moving his head for a time.

  Indeed.

Even so, looking up... at the only thing it made sense to look at, at the time, I would say.

  Indeed.

Of the very same was there a rustling in the bushes, one the lad paid no mind to.

Why, 'twas of his own mind that he chose to ignore it.

And of the very same, did it in a mere moment or set thereof stop.

  ...

Why, 'tis of no concern. Perhaps a wild beast headed here or there.

  ...

Why, do you honestly believe that everything must lead to everything?

Why, I may even tell you that a large pair of mating salamandraks did fly over the lad...

Dropping a poisonous spray down below as they tend to do.

  However, nay!

Such and such a thing would lead to naught, for the very beasts would pay little mind to the young lad.

And the young lad little mind to them.

  Indeed!

'Tis of the many things of this world, I must say.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

  That not a one. Indeed.

Not everything, must be concerned with.

  Yes...

And of the very same, did the young lad merely continue to stare into the moon.

For quite a while, I must say.

Before he did eventually continue his walk. Indeed.

And thereof, did the young lad merely leap upon the branches of a great ogre of a tree.

And climb it, all the way up.

  Yes.

  'Twas a most easy climb.

One the very likes of which required only a few minutes...

As he scaled the massive beast of the trees with his hands.

And of it, merely to gaze upon the moon once more.

This time, fully and utterly without the gaze of the jungle to obstruct his view.

  However, this time...

  More morosely than before.

  Indeed.

All the same, did he fail to observe it for too long, this time...

Thereafter deciding to scale back down to the tree trunk.

All the very same, did he find himself sliding down...

  Feet upon the tree...

All the way to the bottom...

Before leaping off at the last moment to reach the ground.

  Indeed.

Thereof continuing his walk for quite a while...

Seeing many a thing, and yet also not seeing them.

  ...

Well, I merely mean to say that the young lad would see a thing, say, fresh fruit, the very likes of which he would normally choose to pick for himself, and thereof, skip it.

  Indeed.

All the same did the young lad continue upon his most peculiar walk...

One where nothing all too unfamiliar or odd did occur...

Why, even so, did he come across the very webbing of a monkey spider.

  ...

  Spider monkey?

Is that a beast from your world, dear reader?

  ...

  Hmmm...

No, 'tis nothing like the very monkey spider.

Why, that beast unlike yours is the very spitting image of a spider...

Save for its very acrobatic sense in climbing.

Why, there does find itself to be a legend of the very beast...

One that tells of it laying eggs into the bodies of people...

And thereof, the very male laying its seed by the same sort unto other people...

And when those struck by the male would meet those struck by the female, why...

Would the very pair find themselves...

  ...

Well, I suppose that love is an interesting term.

For the very pair would become very much interested in one another...

Either merely as friends or as romantic partners...

All the same, would they cause quite a bit of trouble to the very town.

  Causing betrayals, divorces...

Oh, the very beasts would destroy livelihoods in their hearts...

And, as the very pair's "disease" reached its full maturity, would they disappear unto the forest...

  Never to return.

  Indeed.

  ...

  Hmmm...

  Who is really to say...

Why, this very beast is quite rare...

And even so, must I say...

That most researchers only concern themselves with beasts of the very likes of which are either immediately of some use to humans...

Or rather, are of a more dangerous sort to them all.

  Indeed.

  ...

Why, researching is a task most often deadlier than being a Knight, I would say.

Why, is every researcher either a warrior of some sort by trade or even so well versed in the craft, or also, always in the company of such.

  Indeed.

  Moving along...

Did the young lad continue his walk through the forest glades...

All unto the dead of the night...

  'Till morning did come.

  Indeed.

And thereof, had the young lad managed to return, before they all decided to start breakfast.

  Hmmm...

  No.

Rather, a mere two hours before they had just started.

  Indeed.

Why, the breakfast went along as one would expect, before...

Well, I suppose I shall narrate the full occurrence.

  Indeed.

And of the very same, do I now begin.

  Fren: Good morning, everyone!

'Twas Madam Thornberry who did awaken first...

  And answer...

  Nancy: Good morrow, Mr. Chavalier.

And following soon after, was it Reginald Walterson himself...

Reginald: A good morrow to you, my good man.

  And thereafter Mr. Florian...

Florian: Good morrow to all of you.

And Reginald, to Madam Thornberry as well as Florian...

Reginald: Good morrow to you both...

And Madam Thornberry to Reginald and Florian...

Nancy: Oh, why, how did I neglect to... A good morrow to you both as well...

Followed by a laugh from the three, as Florian merely nervously watched them all.

And of the very same, did Madam Hathaway finally exit her own carriage.

Why, the very woman had awoken much earlier than the very many of them...

Even so, was she the very sort of woman who preferred to prepare her face before leaving her room.

  Indeed.

Even so, was it to a hearty "Good morning" from them all that she did awaken...

And one that she did return...

Before they all got ready and prepared themselves for breakfast.

  Indeed.

And of the very first topic, I say...

  Why, most obviously...

Nancy: Mr. Chavalier... did the young lad find his way back here from his walk?

Fren: Hmmm... Yes, I do believe so.

  Reginald: Oh. Very good then.

Why, do fail to be fooled...

The very lad could hear every word they did say.

And of the very same, why...

Was it only a matter of moments ago that he did awaken.

  Indeed.

  Even so, did they continue...

Reginald: Why, 'tis very poor of me to expect evil of me from such a lad.

A regretful statement, I should say...

All the same, did the very rest of them continue with their meal...

Nancy: Why, I do hope that the lad awakes himself soon.

This she said not merely for the lad to eat...

But also for she hoped he would return that they may experience yet more of his cooking.

And all the very same, was the very idea in the hearts of Reginald, Fren and Florian.

  Yes...

  All but for Madam Hathaway...

The very woman who, unlike the very rest of them...

Save except perhaps for Mr. Fren Chavalier...

Did find herself awake at the time that the young lad did return.

  Indeed.

A mere two hours, one may say...

And thereof, did she fully and utterly resent the very fact that the young lad merely chose to return a mere matter of hours before the sun would rise...

Why, did she decide that that act was far too careless...

The very likes of which she would have liked to report...

But of her own intellect refused to.

  For, indeed.

She was far too wise to voice out her concerns...

And remained ever silent, even and so, as the very young lad did eventually arise from the carriage doors...

  Indeed.

All the same, looking as he did before...

Fren: Ah, good morning, dear lad...

And they all did continue the same chorus of greetings...

  Yes...

  I shan't repeat that all...

  'Twould take time.

Even so, did the very young lad find himself seated amongst them all...

Enjoying what was a combination of egg and bread, alongside butter and milk.

  Indeed.

A serving set up by Fren Chavalier himself...

Why, the very young lad was not to take anything bitter such as tea, did the man think.

And thereof, did their breakfast continue...

And come to a close, before...

  Hmmm...

Well, I do suppose that Fren Chavalier did ask...

Fren: Do say, young lad... how was your walk?

And of the very same, did the young lad answer...

  Jake: It was fine.

  Indeed.

  And that was that.

  Hmmm...

Well, Reginald did ask a few questions here and there...

  Such as...

Reginald: Do say, anything worth mentioning?

  Jake: No.

Reginald: Oh? Well, I suppose that is alright then. Why...

And he did then go along to tell that he did believe that little was better than more in the wilderness...

Before regaling them all with a tale of how he found a very piece of a very rare metal in a most lowly town...

One the very likes of which was most abandoned for the most part.

All the same, did they all listen on as they would...

Saying nothing for the many laughs they did share.

  Yes.

I do suppose that that story does indeed summarise their breakfast.

All the same, did they all, one by one, re-enter the very carriages.

  Yes...

  Indeed...

And of the very same, why...

Was it not so long after that they did soon get a move on...

A bit faster than before, I should say...

Why, 'twas for the fact that they all were well rested...

And thereof, did they travel back into the forest...

All the while following along by the small river but only for a bit...

Before branching off, leaving it in the fray.

Of the very same, I would say...

  Was it then and there...

  Hmmm...

  No, no...

  Not quite then and there...

  Say, quite some time later...

The young lad inside the very carriage...

The very lot of them all, riding all the while...

But for Florian and Madam Hathaway...

The very pair of which had decided to reserve their energy...

And all the same, was it well put then and there...

That a most horrible screech could be heard from the carriages.

  Indeed.

And of the very same, why...

Was it from Madam Hathaway's carriage.

  Indeed.

Why, did it take a most short and quick couple of moments for they all to escape and leave their carriages...

  But not before stopping...

  Obviously...

To get out of the very carriages, all the same also...

And to rush to that of Madam Hathaway.

Why, I shall play it as so.

For, from the very moment of the scream was it Fren Chavalier who was the first to stop...

  As well as Reginald Walterson.

The very man did stop for the audible scream did sound from a mere carriage away.

All the same, did the very woman by the name of Nancy Thornberry only fail to stop immediately but for her very slowness in reaction.

  Indeed.

Why, the very woman did soon thereafter find herself most surprised to listen and hear...

  That very scream.

And thereof, in a very loud voice...

  Reginald: 'Tis Madam Hathaway!

Which he did say, shouting outside the window...

Only after Fren Chavalier did ask...

  Fren: What is that?

And of the very same, did they all, including Mr. Florian...

All rush to her very aid...

  Yes...

All the four of them exiting their very carriages...

Why, had Fren Chavalier only for a moment forgotten that the young lad was with them.

And thereof, that he could most easily provide support should something be amiss.

  Yes...

Consider that a product of travelling without one quite like him for the very longest of times...

And of the very same, did they all, all the very four of them...

Fully exposed to the wilderness, a problem of the very things of fear, I should say...

  And rush outside...

  Indeed.

Where Madam Hathaway was looking out right there and then...

As the very woman found herself to be oh-so terrified looking...

As her face was outside the window.

  Indeed.

  Fren: Madam Hathaway!

  Nancy: Victoria!

  Reginald: What is amiss!

And Florian did stay quiet, all the while patiently expecting an answer...

And the very woman that Victoria Hathaway was, why...

  Did she simply...

  Oh, dear...

  Time again, I say.

Well, at the very least are we not quite done here.

  Indeed.

  Moving along...
