New Girl

Sinemon Academy, a place where young individuals attend in order to train themselves for a future. Home to over 500 students of all ages, Sinemon grants great roles in society upon graduation given your specific skillset. Among these students, stands a new transfer student. Standing at 5 '6 with golden blonde hair down to her shoulders, Sumiko Sumika.

“Today is a new day, and my first at Sinemon Academy. I hope that I will be able to create new friends and memories here as time goes by.” Interrupting her inner dialogue is a phone call from her friend, Sarah. Without even being able to give a proper greeting, Sara’s voice projects itself. “HEY SUMIKO! WHY HAVEN’T YOU RESPONDED TO MY MESSAGES YET? I WAS WORRIED THAT SOMETHING MIGHT’VE HAPPENED TO YOU!” Sumiko, who had finished recovering from her friend’s assault on her eardrums, gives her response. “Calm down, Sarah. We’re on the phone. What exactly is so important that you wanted to tell me?” Sarah begins to explain to Sumiko about how the school operates. From academics, to students fighting each other in tournaments, to rival schools, almost like gangs but for students, exists and fights to assert dominance and popularity. In other words, this place is pretty dangerous. Most importantly, Sinemon has three students who stand above everyone, including most of the staff. They are known as the “Three Emperors”. Before hanging up, Sarah leaves Sumiko with some words of advice. “I know how frail you are, so try to make a friend or two to help defend you. Also, don’t piss off any of the emperors.” With those final words, Sumiko proceeds into the Academy grounds and goes about her day.

After wandering around for a while, Sumiko visits the classrooms, the eating area, the dorms, and most importantly, the arena, thinking to herself how big the campus is. However, she’s so consumed in her astonishment, that she finds herself bumping into another student.

  Hey! Watch where you’re going!

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Sumiko could do nothing but apologize to the young man. Afterall, she just promised her friend not to make any trouble. And yet, she seems to have found it. But the guy soon loses all interest and walks away. “Whatever! You’re lucky I’m one of the weaker ones here.”

Relieved from the stress, she loosens her posture. It hasn’t even been a full day, and Sumiko almost had to face a tough opponent. At least, in her eyes. But that’s when another student approaches her from behind, laughing. “So, you’re the new student that I heard about.”

Sumiko turns around to see who is speaking with her. Tall, strong but caring eyes, not too muscular, but not too thin. And his aura, it’s one that says “You do not want to mess with me!”. Perhaps this is what scared off the other guy? Within all but 1 minute, Sumiko has gone from excited, to scared, to relaxed, to nervous. In order to try and break this tension, she decides to introduce herself.

“U-Um, yes! I’m Sumiko Sumika! Age 16, grade 11! It’s nice to meet you!” Obviously, she is too tense to realise how loud she is yelling.

“11th huh. Well then there’s no need to be so formal. My name is Shiryu Masamune. Allow me to tell you everything about this school, starting off with its hierarchy system.” Shiryu seems to be the most excited about this topic, obviously given away by his everlasting grin.

Sumiko puts on a friendly smile in order to help coat her words. “Oh, in that case, there’s no need. I think I know everything there is for me to know about this place. Especially about those emperor guys. Though I’m pretty sure I would be able to recognize them if I saw them. I mean, they are scary people right?”

Trying to put her assumptions aside, Shiryu reassures her that maybe appearance aside, they are both strong and caring individuals. But Sumiko just laughs, almost as if she’s trying to discredit his opinion.

“Yeah right. I don’t care if it’s a school, what kind of person who calls himself a ruler would also be compassionate towards others? If that’s the case, then they must be hiding some kind of weakness.”

Even though he is still putting on a friendly face, Shiryu is actually really annoyed at this point. So much so that his thoughts almost left his mouth and became true words. “(This girl, she’s already judging us without even knowing.) Putting that aside, why don’t you come watch the tournament that’s happening later on?
