Fire of the Gods

-The Flaming Mountains are a chain of constantly active volcanic islands & peninsula just east of the land-locked Gorgossi Mountain ranges (Bordering the Sapphire Sea). There, in the heart of the Fiery Isles, lies the (Lonely) Smoking Mountain; the grandest and most magnanimous mountain of all within the enormous archipelago. The bilateral empire of Nieavellir is separated by the sands, sea & the epicentral Smoking Mountain. All of the lands north of the range are the dwarven nations of Dv?rgher, and all dwarf lands south of it belong to the nations of Dyrholmr. The whole of the empire’s citizenry knows of the Pearl Prophecies: Prophecies that foretell the dawn of every Ring being marked by the birth of a new Sun & Moon in the heavens. It is believed that there have been a total of 6 Rings, resulting in 3 Suns & 3 Moons in the present day. The First Sun & Moon collided via unspeakable magic, becoming the Rainbow Reaper (The Chromatic Comet), which destroys either the Sun or Moon born of the subsequent Ring Cycles. Preceding the magical meteor’s crash into one of its neighboring satellites, a shard of the shooting star severs from the whole, splashing into one of the 7 Planes. The plummeting, polychromatic pieces coalesce as Rainbow Pearls (The most reverend & revered relics of all on Kundra). It is now the 7th Ring Cycle, and it is also foretold that here, in this age, the final Pearl will fall from the heavens (Marking the beginning of the end times).

  … … …

The Rainbow remnant roared across the heights of the southernmost Freelands, barreling northeast through the central skies of Nyx on a collision course with one of the 4 epicentral continents of the 7 Planes. From the summit of Mt. Draupnir (The Highest of the dwarven mountains or ranges), Iystrya Abeloth could almost touch the shimmering shard, were she not so short (Were she not dwarven kin). Mind you, Abeloth is very tall for a dwarf. At 5 feet and 9 inches, she is known as “Abeloth Giant’s Bane” in both Dv?rgher & Dyrholmr territories. Her notoriety does not stem solely from her outrageous height (Especially for a dwarven female), but also from the 3 conquered K?jin battle beasts, slaying an Ixionidae, killing a handful of ?gir, and even felling an Ogrest all before her 100th name day. Thrandish Dwarves live an average of 500 years; thus, the 88-year-old (Legendary) Iystrya was all but an infant in the eyes of most of Thrandkind. Her people view her as a second coming of the forge masters of days long passed.

  … … …

Abeloth had stumbled upon both orichalcum ore & black powder propellant technology in a single moon; and had used them both to form indestructible armor & undisputable weaponry: Spell Singer (A semi-automatic, revolver-chambered, bayonet; which fires enchanted bullets and spells), Spirit Drinker (The orichalcum dipped skull of a battle beast, smelted with Mana Stones, which absorb energies to fuel her weapon) & Igris (A coated coat of dragon-mail, leatherbound orichalcum gauntlets, shoulder & chestplate; as well as thigh high greaves).

  … … …

Iystrya is the result of the Blue Eyes & the White Dragon clans joining in holy union. Her skin was a vampiric, pale pinkish, white. Her eyes were brighter than stars, yet bluer than the oceans, and her hair was the color of the yellow suns or spun gold.

  … … …

Abeloth tilted her head back and stared up at the spectacular satellite as the ground beneath her began to shake vehemently. The summit of the Smoking Mountain had long been covered in the overgrowth of the surrounding forest. Beneath the green grass and soft soil lies the ever-thinning caldera crust. Creeks and crevices rapidly began forming all around the dwarven warlord before light and heat peaked up through each. Every active volcano in the Flaming Mountains chain had erupted, as well as a few that were not. She bolted towards the rim of the pyroclasmic peak but was halted by the sudden and violent appearance of the Smith God (Vandagor). Forgetting herself or predicament, the voluptuous vagrant dropped to her knees and prostrated herself. Her breasts were less bold than the Aeonic Deity’s, yet they still spilled out onto her thick thighs, from the outer edges of her chestplate.

  “Hail, Giant’s Bane,” Vandagor thundered.

His voice rippled across the clouds like waves in a pond full of throwing stones. It generated shock waves and pushed back the sturdy warrior woman as well as every flying bird or beast within a quarter-mile radius. The world all around Abeloth had brutally exploded. When she opened her shut eyes, she had surely entered the heavens; only, it was not the Halls of Eru’Vandr, promised to all devout followers of the Smith. Iystrya found that she was simply in the greater skies above the Mother World, slowly descending atop the fragmented molten crust like a flaming chariot.

“The Rainbow Rock is upon us,” he bellowed.

The Long Night Fall brought about by the initial Dark Lord is remembered as the Century of Storms. A 100-year winter without sunlight or snow, even, where the skies continually rained fire and the rivers ran red with blood or dried up into deep trenches. Half the population of the heavens & homeworld were reduced to ash and relegated to history or memory. What is most remembered of the conflict is its precipitous end; mayhaps, the golden age that followed it. Be it Miina (By way of the Broken Heart), Sophia (As she is hailed as by the people of the Western Fingers), or Gaia (Her moniker to and from the Silvanus), all are agreed (By any given name) that she is the Aeon whom slew the Dark Ones, imprisoned their patriarch, and brought about the Age of Rainbows. Stripped of his name and titles, the first Dark One (The first Dark Lord, no less) was cast into the Cosmic Cage for his crimes. A cage that was foretold to remain shut until the times when the fires of the gods rained from the homeworld into the heavens, and that this event would be marked by a sea of mountains, set aflame by the Rainbow Rock.

“You have been called upon, child of the Deep Fires—Will you heed that call?”
