“Please don’t kill me, sister…”

  I started to tell her what will happen to her and me in the future. Her eyes open wide when I recall what happened to her in the future. I even told her about our foster parents plan for her and me.

  “If what you’re telling me is true, tell me who you faced in the tournament until the grand finals.” Sister Nana looks confused. “How do you know about the arranged marriage plan? It's supposed to be a secret…”

  I start telling her all of the enemies that I will face. The names of tournament entries are still secret, and only a handful of people know them to evade mixing and fixed matches. My sister was the one who knew it, because she is the head of tournament administrations.

  “How do you know? You are not secretly coming into my office and stealing information, right?” My sister keeps interrogating me.

  “Ask for yourself, do you think I made myself low by stealing from your offices to gain advantage?” I protested. “Do you think that your beloved little brother really has the guts to steal from your office?”

  After washing my face in the sink of the public bathroom, I tried to look calm and reassure myself. Seeing my reflection in the bathroom mirror makes me want to destroy it. The noticeable change on my face is that my eyes slowly glow red if you stare at them for a long time.

  “You’re still looking handsome, though,” the demon queen praised.

  Not something that I want to hear right now. After composing myself and trying to smile again. I want to come out, but my legs say otherwise. My legs didn't want me to come out of the bathroom and hide myself here.

  Seeing outside getting noisier, I decided to come out of this toilet stall and make my way to the library. The academy library is located near the classroom complex. The towering high fifth-floor building stood tall among the 2nd-story classrooms complex.

  I make my way to the library receptionist and fill in the attendance list. I noticed my sister's name is here. Should I meet her here?

  After looking for a book that I want to read while waiting for Fuyu to come. Stepping upstairs, I found my sister reading in the second-floor study room. I think she doesn't want to get disturbed, judging by how she buried herself with a book and putting do not disturb sign on her study table.

  Gathering up my courage, I slowly approached her from behind.

  “Sister, I’m sorry…” I whispered.

  And quickly vanished toward the 4th floor. After putting down the book that I want to read on the study table. Just one step after coming to the 4th floor. I see Fuyu talking with Arthur here.

  “Sorry, I’m late,” I said and sat at the same study table as her.

  Fuyu was the kind of girl who was closed at first meet. But if you manage to befriend her, she will start to open up more and show her true self.

  “Welcome, darling.” The purple-haired girl said to me.

  “What?!” I shocked. Tilted my head and raised my left eyebrow, asking for an explanation.

  “I’m sorry, Arthur, as you can see, I'm already dating Thomas here,” Fuyu said brightly. “So I can’t date you, or accept your love!”

  “Go along with it,” Fuyu whispered.

  “Yes, I’m her boyfriend, got any problem?” I said to play along with her demand.

  “So like that… in the end, that promise we made as a child is just a childish promise?” Arthur looks sad.

  Seeing that I hid my excitement. Fuyu is also experiencing the same thing as me. Maybe she wants me to play along as her boyfriend to torture Arthur?

  Slowly, then I shifted my chair closer to her. Then I hugged her affectionately.

  “If you get harassed, just tell me. I’ll make the one who harassed you pay the price for harassing the girlfriend of someone stronger like me.” I said to her.

  “Sorry if I'm bothering you. I’ll take my leave. See you tomorrow,” Arthur can hold it anymore, and he walked out with a clear face of disappointment on his face.

  “Finally,” Fuyu said as Arthur vanished from our sight. “Thank you for playing along. Shall we go to our secret room?”

  A blush appeared on her face. What does she expect now?

  I nodded.

  “In the secret room or here? It is quiet here right now. Only us in this 4th floor.” I countered.

  “Come on, Thomas.” Fuyu pressed.

  There’s no other choice than standing up. I walk into one of those strange bookshelves and release my magic while holding one particular book. The sound of a lock being unlocked can be heard.

  Fuyu was already in front of a secret door that appeared in the corner of the floor.

  “Quickly, I want to talk about our regressions thing!” she said to me.

  I put a sign that read, “This floor is being used”, to make other visitors bypass this floor in front of the stairs. Ordinary students have no use for this library floor; the books here contain sacred and advanced magic that only extraordinary students or talented students can read.

  “It’s been a long time since we entered this room,” Fuyu said and opened the windows of our secret room here.

  “Last week,” I reminded her that we are regressed.

  “Oh, right, last week.” Fuyu accepted. “Look at my stats… It’s incredible, we can start our journey much stronger now.”

  “Agree with you, this time we let that man retire for good,” Fuyu said and nodded.

  “But there is bad news for me. My sister knows that I regressed and knows that I am half demon now.” I sighed and rubbed my forehead.

  “Oh yeah, what are the consequences for you, Thomas? Being a half-demon…” Fuyu asked, her face showing a huge hint of worry.

  “The demon queen said something about hunting or whatever…” I answered honestly. “I’m getting worried about what will happen to me now.”

  “Don’t worry, I’ll be by your side to help you if anything bad happens.” Fuyu is trying to reassure me.

  “For now, let’s continue building my beloved weapon…” Fuyu said and pointed at half-finished magic guns on the workshop table of this secret room.

  “Right, I almost forgot about that, this time we can finish it quickly. Let’s finish it before dark.”
