CHAPTER 6:AN ABILITY USER? CHAPTER 2

The moment their fists were about to collide, a voice cut through the air.

  “Enough.”

The sound wasn’t loud, yet it carried weight—heavy enough to freeze both fighters in place.

  Tokita Ayuto reacted first.

His feet skidded back against the floor as he retreated nearly five feet in a blink, instincts screaming. His body lowered into a guarded stance, eyes sharp, muscles coiled. Whoever had spoken wasn’t normal. Tokita could feel it.

Natsuki, on the other hand, clicked his tongue.

  “Tch.”

Lightning crackled faintly around his lowered hand as he slowly relaxed his arm, annoyance clear on his face. He turned toward the newcomer, blue sparks dancing briefly before fading.

The man standing between them was tall—taller than both of them. His presence was calm, almost unnervingly so. When he opened his eyes, they glowed a soft yellow, sharp but not hostile.

  Those eyes shifted.

  First, to Natsuki.

  Then—to Tokita.

  Tokita felt it immediately.

  The man walked toward him.

Not fast. Not slow. Just… confident.

Tokita didn’t move, though his body screamed for action. Was this guy going to fight too?

The man stopped a few steps away.

  Then—he smiled.

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

  Tokita’s brows furrowed.

“What?” Tokita said flatly. “You here to have a round too?”

The man chuckled lightly. “Damn. I must be popular today.”

Tokita didn’t smile back. His gaze sharpened instead. Something about this guy felt different from Natsuki—refined, controlled. Dangerous in a quieter way.

  Then, unexpectedly, the man bowed.

“I apologize,” he said calmly. “Truly.”

  Tokita blinked. “…Huh?”

The man straightened. “Natsuki is… a wild card. He tends to attack first when it comes to strangers. I hope you won’t take it personally.”

Tokita stared at him, completely caught off guard.

  Wait—he’s not trying to fight?

Before Tokita could respond, movement stirred from the shadows.

  Two figures stepped out.

  One of them was Nezuko.

The moment Tokita saw her, his chest tightened.

  She wasn’t alone.

Beside her stood a girl with long blue hair, her expression sharp and observant. She released Nezuko’s wrist and gave her a gentle nudge forward.

  Nezuko immediately ran.

  “Tokita!”

She slammed into him, wrapping her arms around his torso without hesitation. Tokita stiffened for half a second—then relaxed.

  “You’re okay,” he muttered.

  Before he could say more—

  Smack.

  “Ow!”

Natsuki yelped as Nezuko slapped the back of his head.

“Why’d you hit me?!” he snapped.

“You idiot!” Nezuko shot back. “You attack him without explaining anything, and you expect me not to?!”

“Then hit him too!” Natsuki argued, pointing at Tokita.

Tokita raised a brow. “I’d rather not.”

The siblings immediately turned on each other, bickering like nothing explosive had just happened.

  Tokita watched in silence.

  What… is going on?

  His gaze shifted.

The yellow-eyed man stood quietly nearby, arms relaxed, watching the scene with mild amusement. Nearby, the blue-haired girl leaned against the wall, eyes fixed on Tokita as if evaluating him.

Tokita finally spoke. “Okay. Someone wanna explain before things get even weirder?”

  Natsuki scoffed. “Tch. Whatever.”

The lightning around his hands vanished completely as he turned away, clearly done fighting. He shot Tokita one last glare before walking off.

The yellow-eyed man stepped forward again.

“Once more,” he said, bowing his head slightly. “I apologize on his behalf.”

Tokita shrugged. “Yeah. Whatever. I don’t really care.”

  Still—his eyes lingered.

Why is this guy so polite?

The blue-haired girl pushed off the wall. “Enough talking,” she said coolly, pointing down the hall. “We’re leaving.”

  The man nodded. “Right.”

He turned to Tokita. “Come with us. There are things you should know.”

  Tokita hesitated.

  Then exhaled.

  “…Fine.”

Without another word, they began walking toward the classroom hall, footsteps echoing through the damaged building.

  Tokita followed, mind racing.

Nothing about today made sense anymore.

And somehow—he knew this was only the beginning.
