EPILOGUE: DARK HORIZON

  “BLECH!”

After breaking all three of the Intergalactic Alien Mercenaries who had accosted him back at the Nyte Club in the ‘cold, black heart’ of Smuggler’s Haven, a still drunk Magnus now resided in dark, wet alleyway on the furthest outskirts of the ‘Skilian Capital City’... PUKING HIS THRACKING GUTS OUT.

Having barely made it out of the Nyte Club with his life-force still ignited, the planet-drifting ‘Breaker of Worlds’ crashed his multi-colored blood soaked gaunt and bearded face in a puddle of his own vomit mixed with ‘maroon rainwater’ after collapsing down to the ground.

  “Rise, World-Breaker… RISE.”

“HUH? WHAAA???” a haggard, drunken Magnus huffed and groaned after raising his head upwards to see that he was no longer in the alley… Or on Skilia anymore.

Now lying upon a MASSIVE, heptagon-shaped platform that was compiled of ‘bright, stark white’ light energy, the Breaker of Worlds looked around at his ‘newfound surroundings’ in total UTTER confusion.

“GRAND GREETINGS, BREAKER OF WORLDS… MAGNUS,” uttered the god-like, ‘overpowering’ sounding voice of a ‘humanoid, Ancient Egyptian 3D Hieroglyph looking male’ who stood at the center of the massive, ‘light energy platform’, which was set beneath an infinite number of stars and nebula clusters.

Wearing bright, stark white and golden robes whilst wielding a ‘wavy’ golden staff in his(?) right hand that had a ‘Sprawling Winged Falcon’ Standard, the ‘humanoid male’, who stood near seven-feet-tall with tan skin, slicked back black hair, a finely trimmed mustache and beard, and eyes that were made up the same type/color of light energy looked directly at Magnus, who stared at him grand confusion… AND FEAR.

“It has been quite some time since we last… ‘encountered’ one another, Magnus,” the strange ‘humanoid male’ stated as the former Galactic Decider turned ‘Interstellar Nomadic Wanderer’ slowly started to push himself back up to his feet.

“Who… Who are you?” Magnus fumbled out in a drunken slur as he proceeded to look at the ‘strange place’ he was now located within. “Wuh-Where…”

“ARE YOU???” the ‘humanoid male’ asked as Magnus looked back over at him. “You… We are in what is known as… THE NEXUS POINT BETWEEN SPACE, REALITY, AND TIME. Tis a… ‘realm’ of which I solely guard, protect… AND RULE.”

“Nuh-Nuh-Nexus?” Magnus in a confused tone as the ‘mysterious man’ nodded.

“Yes… THE NEXUS… And I am known as… ‘THE OBSERVER’. My ‘purpose’... My ‘role’ is to simply ‘observe’ all things, both ‘living’ and ‘non-living’, in the Known Universe… AND NOTHING ELSE.”

“Ob-Observer? You… You said that we’ve ‘encountered’ each other before… But I’ve never met you.”

“No. No, you haven’t. Not in ‘this’ form… BUT ANOTHER.”

SUDDENLY, the Observer ‘shrunk himself down’ and converted himself into…

“JAIYA???” Magnus gasped in grand shock after the Observer had ‘transformed himself’ into the little Crixan girl childling that he had killed on the cursed day-cycle when he ‘broke’ their home world.

“No, I am not ‘Jaiya’,” the Observer spoke in his regular voice whilst in guise the young Crixan girl. “I merely ‘posed’ as her in order to speak with you… AND GUIDE YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY.”

“My… My journey?” Magnus asked aloud in even grander confusion as the Observer reverted back to his(?) regular self.

“YES. YOUR JOURNEY,” the Observer reaffirmed. “You, along with many others scattered throughout and across your seemingly ‘endless’ Universe, are ‘players’. Players who have ‘roles’; GRANDLY CRUCIAL ROLES in what is known as… THE GRAND GAME.”

Magnus now stood ‘frozen still as a statue’ before the Observer as he went on to explain, “I know this is ‘much’ to learn and understand, World-Breaker… BUT TIME IS OF THE GRAND ESSENCE. Right now, as we speak, forces… DARK FORCES are currently making further headway towards the ‘conclusion’ of the Grand Game. A final conclusion that shall take the form of a War… A GRAND WAR. A War that, if ‘won’ by the ‘forces of darkness’... EVIL then it will end with the inevitable destruction of your Known Universe… WHICH IS WHY YOU MUST ENTER THE GAME.”

Magnus now scrunched his brow as the Observer stated, “Enter the Game, World-Breaker… TAKE UP YOUR ‘ROLE’ and aid the other ‘players’ in vanquishing ‘the forces of infernal evil’ and save your Universe from destruction.”

“World-Breaker,” Magnus repeated as his drunkenness immediately started to fade.

Looking downwards now, Magnus continued, “I am not the ‘World-Breaker’. Not anymore.”

Looking up to and at the Observer once more, the ‘former’ Breaker of Worlds explained, “My name is ‘Magnus’. That’s who I am now… And ‘who’ I shall forever be.”

Narrowing his ‘energy eyes’ now, the Observer stated, “Call and refer to yourself however you wish, but you shall forever be known as… THE BREAKER OF WORLDS. You cannot run from it. You cannot hide from it. IT IS WHAT YOU ARE.”

“To ‘some’, yes… But to myself? NO,” Magnus denied as he now glared at the mysterious, ‘astral entity’. “I am done with fighting. I am done with… ‘breaking’. I am done with all of it… ALL OF IT. You, whoever the thrack you are, say that I am a ‘player’ in this… ‘Grand Game’ of which you speak with such ‘high reverence’ and ‘grand fear’. Well, whether that is, in fact, true or not… I DO NOT WISH TO PLAY YOUR THRACKING GAMES.”

Turning his back on the Observer now, Magnus began to think about how he was going to depart from this ‘Nexus’ realm whilst the ‘Godly Being’ glared at him from behind.

“Deny your ‘role’ all you wish, World-Breaker… But you cannot deny the Game… OR THE

WAR,” the Observer coldly and truthfully stated. “It will come for you… As it will come for all… AND YOU SHALL WISH GRANDLY THAT YOU SOUGHT TO PREVENT IT FROM EVER OCCURRING.”

“I REFUSE TO LISTEN TO YOU,” Magnus snapped back at the Observer whilst he remained turned from him still. “I refuse to listen to any ‘senseless raxx’ that you spew from your gob. NOW, return me to…”

  SHOOM…

  BOOP!

“SKILIA,” Magnus uttered aloud after he was ‘returned’ to the decrepit, dank alleyway on the outskirts of Smuggler’s Haven on planet Skilia back in the Serpenus Galactic Sector.

With a fresh bout of maroon-colored rain showers beginning to fall upon him and the rest of the city, Magnus, with his slowly shutting eyes looking upwards, thought about the ‘strange occurrence’ that he had just experienced whilst he began to lose consciousness from the over consumption of alcohol.

Wondering if it were all a mere ‘drunken illusion’... OR REAL.
