Darkness. Endless, suffocating darkness.
Ciel drifted in nothingness, his body weightless, his senses scattered. The hall, the crystal, the crowd—all of it had vanished the moment his hand touched the Awakening Stone.
Now, there was only silence.
But soon, the void shifted.
Faint wisps of light curled through the black, like smoke trailing from unseen fires. They twisted and wove together, forming an endless expanse—neither sky nor ground, yet somehow… solid. Ciel floated, or stood, or perhaps both, within this impossible space.
The stories had spoken of this place.
The Inner Space of Gaia.
Where the System peeled back the surface of the soul and revealed one's true potential.
A nervous breath escaped him as his eyes adjusted to the strange glow.
All around, visions began to flicker into existence. At first, they were faint impressions—faces, unfamiliar lands, towering structures reduced to rubble. But the longer he watched, the more vivid they became.
A golden desert stretched endlessly beneath an alien sun. Ancient forests teemed with life—and hidden dangers. Cities of impossible architecture stood tall, only to crumble under the march of time. Storms raged across mountains that scraped the heavens. Monstrous shadows stalked forgotten ruins.
It was as if the very history of the world—the past, present, and future—unfolded before him, fragmented and chaotic.
His heart pounded as each vision passed, the strange space pressing in around him. The energy here was immense—living, breathing, pulsing with power.
And then, among the shifting scenes, something changed.
A distant glimmer appeared.
It hovered at the far edge of the void—a single, pulsing speck of light. Small at first. But as Ciel instinctively moved toward it, it began to grow.
The mists parted.
The light expanded into a vast, empty landscape.
A realm.
Rolling hills of soft, untouched grass stretched to the horizon beneath a pale blue sky. No mountains. No rivers. No forests. Only stillness… and potential.
The air carried no sound, yet the land felt alive, waiting.
Ciel could feel it—this realm… it was his.
The connection was immediate. Natural. As though this world had been crafted just for him… or perhaps by him.
He took a tentative step, his foot sinking into the cool grass. The land responded with a faint ripple of energy, acknowledging his presence, welcoming him.
His mind raced.
Is this… my class?
The System’s voice answered, deep and unwavering, echoing not through the air but within his very soul.
“Ciel Nova. You have awakened. Your class is...”
The interface solidified before him, the words glowing with quiet finality.
Unique – Realm Holder.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Ciel’s eyes widened as the words etched themselves into his consciousness. A Unique Class. A title unheard of among his peers. His heart raced.
“I… I am the Holder of Realms,” he whispered, the realization settling over him like a heavy cloak.
The vision dissolved.
---
The Hall of Gaia hummed with the aftershocks of awakening—whispers of excitement, hushed awe, and the uncertain energy of change. The ceremony had ended, but the tension in the air still lingered like mist clinging to a morning field.
Ciel stood in silence, lost in thought. The class bestowed upon him—Realm Holder—was more than a mere designation. It pulsed at the edge of his consciousness, strange and vast, like standing at the mouth of a world he couldn’t yet see.
Nearby, Veldora was still grinning, recounting his Knight class to a group of awed candidates. “High-Rare tier, Knight! Told you I’d catch up to the others for real!”
Ciel gave him a small nod and smiled, but his mind remained elsewhere. Realm Holder still echoed in his thoughts, a title with no precedent. There were no whispers of others who held it. No stories. No guidance. Only questions.
“What about you, Ciel?” Veldora asked, curiosity lighting his face. “What did you get?”
Ciel hesitated. For a breath, he considered deflecting—but something in him decided to speak plainly.
“I’m a Realm Holder,” he said quietly.
Veldora blinked, his grin faltering. “A... Realm Holder? Is that even a thing?”
Sora, who had caught the exchange, stepped closer. Her eyes widened. “Wait… Realm Holder? I’ve never heard of that class! That’s... incredible, Ciel. You’re the first one in the world with it.”
Before Ciel could respond, he felt a strange sensation stir deep inside—like a faraway breath brushing the corners of his soul. A presence. Distant. Waiting. He blinked, the moment vanishing as quickly as it came.
As the Hall of Gaia quieted again, a tall figure stepped forward. His presence drew attention like a tide, calm but irresistible.
Astha Chakravedi.
Leader of one of the 21 Stars guilds. A Seventh-Stage Awakener. Her crimson cloak fluttered with every measured step, and her voice, when it rose, commanded instant silence.
“This marks the end of your Awakening Ceremony,” she declared. “You now stand on the threshold of your journey as Awakeners of Gaia.”
She paused, letting the weight of her words settle.
“In one week, each of you will enter your first Test Dungeon—your first trial under the System. It will determine your growth, your placement, and your standing. This coming week has been granted for rest, recovery, and reflection. Use it to understand your abilities—your strengths and your limits. Guidance will be available for those who seek it.”
She nodded once, firmly. “Dismissed.”
As murmurs rose and footsteps stirred, Astha’s voice cut through the noise once more.
“Ciel Nova.”
The world seemed to still. Dozens of eyes turned toward him.
Ciel froze, uncertainty prickling down his spine.
Why was Astha—one of the most powerful Awakeners on the continent—calling for him?
