Chapter 111

Some time ter, Conrad started hearing more and more people were around the forest that is close to his primary location.

"It seems like more people were able to gather eggs, and more of them start hiding from the others."

Conrad changed locations and went to a cave instead of staying on the open ground.

He did not want to encounter other people.

He wanted to train more deeply.

Because of this, he wanted to have more of a hidden and covered location.

He located the cave just before dusk.

It was not visible from any obvious trail.

He inspected it carefully before entering.

Inside, the cave narrowed after the entrance and then widened into a modest room rge enough for one person to sit comfortably.

A smaller vertical fissure extended upward toward the surface, barely noticeable unless someone stood directly above it.

  Conrad's lips curved slightly.

  "Perfect."

  He gathered dry wood sparingly.

Once inside, he built a small fire pit.

The smoke would rise vertically through the fissure instead of exiting the entrance.

From outside, even if someone noticed faint smoke drifting into the sky, they would never connect it to the hidden cave opening several meters away.

He then stepped back outside and concealed the entrance further.

Only someone with advanced tracking skills and extensive wilderness experience could possibly notice inconsistencies.

And even then, they would need suspicion first.

  Conrad returned inside.

He ate some of the rabbit.

He wrapped and stored a little piece for an energy boost if he needed it.

"I don't need much food right now."

"Just enough to keep me going."

  It was true.

Through Nen, particurly disciplined aura management, he could maintain peak combat readiness without food for up to seven days.

  He sat cross-legged.

  He exhaled slowly.

  He activated Ten first.

  Then he shifted into Ren.

His aura expanded, filling the chamber.

  The cave felt smaller instantly.

But he did not let it fre wildly.

The key to Nen was mastering his control and increasing his volume of Nen.

He can increase his volume of nen that he controls; he can focus more of the nen on his abilities as well as have more defensive nen for protection.

As long as he has enough amount of nen and mastery of control of it.

He can keep on fighting and have more chances of defeating the enemy as much as he can.

Many Nen users chase abilities when they get Nen.

Conrad did not underestimate basics. This was always told in the series itself.

The truly dangerous Nen users were not just simple ability users but also capable of defeating other Nen users without needing to use their Nen abilities.

Just because of the fact that they are capable fighters and masters of nen applications.

First, he minimized aura leakage until even his presence felt faint.

Then he surged it outward deliberately, testing the upper limit of how much aura he could produce without destabilizing the flow.

Instead of letting it radiate evenly, he redirected more aura toward his forearms.

  Then his legs.

Then condensed it at his core.

He visualized his aura nodes opening wider, allowing greater throughput.

Each breath felt like drawing invisible energy from within and cycling it efficiently.

  Time passed without his awareness.

Outside, somewhere distant, another fight erupted briefly.

Inside the cave, the air felt thick.

He allowed the aura to stabilize rather than colpse abruptly.

That was another common mistake; ending Ren too quickly caused instability and unnecessary fatigue.

Instead, he gradually reduced output until only ten remained.

Then he yered subtle Gyo into his eyes.

In the darkness, faint aura currents became visible.

  He corrected minor inefficiencies.

"There's always room to refine," he thought.

He maintained it for several minutes.

Then released it slowly back into Ten.

Most applicants either guarded their eggs anxiously or hunted others in the darkness.

  Conrad remained still.

When he finally eased back into a calm Then and opened his eyes, the cave felt quiet again.
