THE WORLD
Recorded by Fire takes place in a brutal post collapse world. Survival is not heroic. It is routine. Cities exist as fortified nodes in a hostile landscape. Outside controlled routes, the environment punishes mistakes without warning. The State is decentralized but absolute in authorizing violence and enforcing order.
Humanity has mixed over generations into a single blended population. The old divisions of race have phased out. Most people fall within a range of neutral tan to light brown skin tones, with variation in features and hair but no distinct racial categories.
Power exists, but it is not always freedom. Whether you are valuable or expendable, the system can still discard you. Getting out of it? Nigh impossible.
CINERAI (Sin-Er-Eye
Cinerai are hostile non human threats shaped by the world’s collapse. They are not random animals. They are creatures adapted to pressure heavy environments and unstable zones. They hunt, swarm, and persist where normal life cannot. They are a constant external danger, but they are not the only danger. As the story progresses, human systems become just as lethal.
