Prologue – The end of a promise(2)

So, I became the bitch of the bitch. Shitty job, but at least I got paid, and for someone at the age of 13, it was a lot of money.

All I had to do was keep to myself and watch the monster when she left the house and came in. Pop would use the excuse of checking up on me to flirt with the maid.

And my job was not all that hard; just be close to the bitch so that she did not get killed out of nowhere.

I knew everything there was to know about the vilge, and that meant I knew she was not going to get fucked up.

What I worried about more was how she would use this opportunity to boss me around more. And sure enough, from the moment she learned of my subordination, she abused the absolute shit out of it.

I became her on-hand servant, and because she held the colr of my leash, all I could do was obediently obey.

On the plus side, this opposition helped me make a few friends—the first friends of my life.

Nobody bothered to talk badly about my situation, at least to my face, but some sympathized. Chief among them were Kylie and Robin, two girls who had often led the charge when I was regurly bullied but tried to cozy up to me instead when I flipped the script on their ass.

They were also among the first to receive the taste of my fists, so when they asked me if I needed help with dealing with the bitch I was genuinely confused.

“Why do want to help me?”

I was dubious of their approach; after all, they were masters at messing people up with their words and could inspire riots with just a whisper.

Heck, it was their fault things went so far as to get the guards involved.

“Because… I know what it is like to get picked on by people who have all the control in your life.”

  Robin said with a huff.

“Yep, they think that because of their position they can whatever want.”

  Kylie parroted back.

I was dubious about the two, but my patience was quickly approaching its limits, and if I did not vent, I would explode, so I decided to use the two wenches as emotional punching bags.

To my shock, I found myself becoming quick friends with the two. They were super fun to hang out with, and having someone to bme shit on helped bring us closer.

Through them, I also found out about their shitty lives; both of them got parents who were absent or abusive or both. They hated them. The concept was alien to me, who only felt love and respect.

I got so curious that I went to their home secretly to figure out whether they were lying. They were known for making up shit; my early childhood was proof of that, so I had to see for myself.

It was the first time I felt pity for my former bullies, the first time I saw sex happen with my own eyes, and my first witness of a sexual crime.

Do you know when people experience moments of blind rage? Yep, that was what happened to me. I did not know why I was so angry then, but I now do because they resembled how I felt the day I wanted to end everything, which made me unreasonably angry.

So I broke in, beat the man to an inch of his life, and also his stupid wives that got in my way. Robin and Kylie were super confused by all this, even more so when I grabbed them and left that horrid pce.

I was not thinking right that day, or I probably would have done things differently, like secretly killing the husband when anyone was not looking.

Cause somehow, I was at fault for the whole thing, and this time, the whole vilge banded together to punish me.

I was so ready to fuck them all up, but Pop stopped me, and I learned that day just how stupid and confusing the adult world was. How position and power gave people unjust benefits. The worst of all, I learned that day that I could not solve everything with my fists or swinging a sword.

So Pop took care of it in the most Pop way possible.

“My son fancies your daughters Priest and had come that day to take them as his future brides.”

That came as a shock to everyone, and I was also part of that crowd. The only reason I did not make a scene was because I was still inside the house getting treated for the minor bruises I got from dealing with that rotten family.

Robin and Kylie looked lost throughout the whole thing but stayed very close to me, which helped seal the deal.

The vilge looked annoyed but grudgingly accepted the status qou, purely because my Pop did the same with my Mom. She was to be married to someone else, and Pop crashed the wedding beat up the groom and got wedded to her instead. A story I heard countless times and was something of a legend in this vilge.

The priest was still furious but the rest of the vilge calmed down. Chalking it up to “The Helm family” craziness, losing support the priest grudgingly accepted but broke ties with Kylie and Robin, naming them bastards.

Mom was as quick as a whip on the retort.

“That’s fine, as future brides to my son, it is only right that they become part of our family. Is that not the proper course in the the eyes of the gods, O holy preacher.”

There was venom in her when tone when she spat those words but all of it was said with a smile.

The preacher visibly flinched when Mom threw a sharp gre his way and his six wives were all kowed in her presence.

I could beat them up and with my whole family here I was confident that our entire vilge was strong enough to do the same to us.

But my worries led to nowhere because after my dad calmed everyone down, they all left for their homes and I was left with Robin and Kylie who coincidently became a part of our family that night.

I was also grounded and beaten the shit out of by Pop because I messed up his standing in the vilge. I think my ughing did not help matters and Pop used more of his power than usual when we were training.

On the other hand, I now had two fiances whom just a couple of months ago were my sworn enemies. I did not even know what marriage entailed at the time, just followed dad’s lead and nodded along.

However, what I did not know at the time was that this would start a chain of events I had no power to stop.
