Part 2, Chapter 4: Initiating The Plan

  Chapter 4: Initiating The Plan

After a couple of months, I was happy with both my physical, and magical strength. So I planned to go that night.

I snuck out of bed, and crossed the hallway. I went towards the back door, being careful to avoid where the chaperones search. Once I made it outside, I scaled the fence.

  It’s guard time.

“Fire Ball” I whispered, sending a ball of flames towards the guard from one direction, while I was running at the guard from the opposite. I tried sneaking by the guard while he was looking in the other direction. But that’s it, I tried.

Emi and the boy whose name I now know is Uoun (oo-on) appeared.

“Where are you going?” Emi asked,

  “Somewhere else.” I responded,

“What do you mean somewhere else? We’ll be sad without you here.”

“I’ve barely done anything here anyways. Even if I was connected to this place, I need to get out quickly.”

  “But…”

  “Sorry. Just how it goes.”

“Iro, Take us with you!” Uoun yelled.

“No can do. It will make it harder for me to escape if I have to deal with two other people.” I responded calmly.

“Please!” Emi cried, “Don’t leave us behind!” Although I knew I shouldn’t have, regardless of who I am, it still pained me to see a girl cry because of me.

“Fine. Just quiet down. The guard will hear you.”

All together, we climbed the fence. Making it into the warzone.

The country I bet on escaping to was called Itone. It was a country completely different than our current one, Futae. That’s what I bet on at least.

Emi, Uoun, and I found some shelter nearby. It was an uninhabited bunker.

“Wow! This thing is so cool!” Uoun exclaimed,

“Like it’s right out of a novel!” Emi agreed,

“I mean, this is a warzone, what would you expect?” I asked both of them.

We found a dining room, and a bedroom. Only two rooms, but this would do for a night.

We found sleeping bags, and a small amount of food. Perfect. We needed the food, since this would be a 3 day trip.

At this point, it was very late at night. We were all tired, so we all fell asleep.

  I had a dream.

I was sitting at a river with Emi and Uoun. We were having fun, but when I came back from a short break, they were drowning, and I couldn’t do anything. The only way to save them was to kill myself in the process, so I just watched.

I was scared the people I subconsciously cared about would die. Even with this, I still didn’t think of them as friends.

“Morning Iro!” I was awoken by Uoun shaking me. Emi was sitting up in her sleeping bag, I assume Uoun woke her up this way too.

“Morning. Let’s get something to eat and get going. If we go fast we can make this a 2 day trip.”

“Boring. We have a bunker! Let’s stay here longer!” Uoun commanded,

“Sure. If you want to risk the people who made this bunker coming back.” I said, shutting Uoun down.

“By the way Iro… Where are we going? I was tired last night, so I forgot to ask.” Emi asked,

“Oh yeah. We’re going to Itone.”

“Really? That’s amazing!.” Emi said. She accepted it faster than I expected. Then again, I don’t think she understands that there is no way she can come back to Futae.

We ate, then set out to look for an Itone campsite.
