At this point Veylan only one option in his head “Hmm…if I can’t beat it…maybe I just should…” He turned around running as fast as he could, but the black fog is just way to fast. “Good grief, this thing is really too fast…if I continue to run the chance to encounter the old lady progressively gets higher and higher…but wait…”
While still running away from it he tried to hide his energy, but this only worked for a short time. Quickly it caught him again but then he realized something. “Hehe…I saw through her! The old woman’s idea was never that we should try to hide our energy from her. What she intended to be the real challenge for us was actually to hide us from those weird fog things.” Even though he knows the old lady’s real training method, he hasn’t come any closer to solving this issue.
Meanwhile Riven hid until he heard something “Gulp…is this her?” Through a little hole in the moss, he saw the old lady walking past him, at the same time a spider crawled up his body until it almost reached his face. With a fast slap at his body, killing the spider he unfortunately made some noise. The old woman just thought “This is Riven? No Veylan could’ve stay more still…hmm…but to be honest if he wasn’t moving, I probably wouldn’t found him so quickly…why don’t I just let him here. I am curious how he handles them…”
Not much later when the woman was already somewhere completely different, he saw the first. “What? What is this thing? I probably should hide my energy, if she couldn’t detect it. Why should they?” Almost after thinking of this the black fog came towards his hiding spot. Right before the attack connected, he got out of his hideout to dodge. He wanted to tackle it as a counterattack, but he just fell through like its literally just fog. Quickly he got beat up and also ran away.
Just a few minutes of running through the forest like he is crazy Veylan and Riven found each other just running together. After Veylan explained that this is the actual challenge Riven said “But there must be something to beat them? Huff…huff…and how in the world can they even detect us better than the old woman does? She didn’t even notice me.” This puzzled Veylan even more but counting one and one together he realized something again but this time something important. “I-I think I maybe got it, I am not sure…if something is sensitive at something, they notice it more…right? What if those fog things are so sensitive to soul energy, this why they noticed us so easily!” Riven looked aside to Veylan saying “Nice to know…huff…but this doesn’t help us really…” He looked at Riven like he is an idiot “Of course it helps! If something is sensitive to something it can be beaten like that!”
Time later they decided it “No more running away!” The two black fogs still chasing them got a form. As one walked at them, going for an attack Riven went as close as possible and tried to only let out as little as possible soul energy. It began to make sounds like it was experiencing pure hell torture, it and the other black fog escaped. “Good, good…” But suddenly they heard someone running in their direction: The old woman.

Even though they began to run as quickly as possible, going to different ways she decided to hunt down Veylan first “Damn, I am running as fast as possible and she somehow is a little faster than me? What kind of old woman is this?” Over time he got tired so there was only one thing left he could’ve thought of.
He hid behind a tree and tried to hide his soul energy “If I am going to take a breath she is going to find me…” Letting out the aura is something Veylan was able to learn and get better at quickly, hiding it on the other side is a big problem for him. Besides that, hiding the energy just does not make someone’s presence disappear, it also makes the user more attackable. Someone hiding their energy can hide well and can be great spy but is more sensitive to everything around him not just physically, they are even mentally weaker, more sensitive and easier to break.
He stood still behind the tree, his expression blank. His pulse started to go down rapidly, being not able to exhale without accidentally letting out some energy.
To his left the old woman went past the tree he is hiding, suddenly she began to talk “I know you’re here, I am not even using my energy to detect you. What do you say? Should I use my soul’s energy?” Right after saying this, she begins to leave her aura out here, coming nearer and nearer each second. Looking for an escape way he looked right only to see another black fog creature, without a second thought he used his energy to kill it and running away.
“Hiding in a bush doesn’t uses a thing! It is going to be same, maybe for a few minutes or longer I am saved until she finds me” In the distance he sees a big hole in the ground, it looks like a cave. He just jumped into it hoping not to get found.
Almost instantly after jumping in, he accidently triggered something that the caves entrance got filled up with rocks. “Not again…those rocks are so massive not even I can move them, at least from this weird tight one…” The old woman saw this deciding to go for Riven to chase down. She is moving serios now.
Looking for a new hiding spot, he heard someone running “Damn…she is going serios now, isn’t she…” In this game Riven had the clear upper hand in comparison to Veylan, Veylan barely could hide his energy from her even though she didn’t even use her energy. In his new hiding spot, he felt the old woman running little to near past him. “Heh…she really wants to get more and more serios over time…In the beginning she was like for a small walk now she is running around even starting to use her energy. I still can hide from her energy, but I am very unsure when uses more, not even thinking when she uses all her energy…” It was already dark, if they someone still survived something about eight or nine hours or so or until morning they would win. “Heh…it only has started, but I must say it maybe becomes very close…”
Even though Riven seems safe, he isn’t. It is purely a matter of time until she detects him. He better start plotting for a plan.
Veylan on the other hand couldn’t do a thing beside going deeper into the cave. “To be honest, maybe it’s better that I am down there. I caught myself; I don’t know why but since we are training…if felt…it felt for a little time as Riven maybe stand under me…how could’ve I been so arrogant?” He thought silently while walking further in the cave, making himself a little promise “I am never going to put someone under myself…”
