Prologue:
Once upon a time, in the vast expanse of the cosmos,
God crafted the heavens, the earth, and the seas.
After meticulously designing every detail of the universe,
God created humans, entrusting them with the stewardship of the world.
Despite being imbued with divine wisdom,
humans were physically frail compared to the wild beasts
and were prone to impulsive actions.
On numerous occasions,
they teetered on the brink of extinction.
“And God, beholding the frailty of humankind,
bestowed unto them a powerful covenant—
the elemental spirits.”
When the spirits descended, the world was filled with mana,
a mystical energy that flowed through every corner of creation.
With mana’s arrival, humans discovered the art of magic.
Yet, not all were equally blessed:
Some humans were born without mana,
living ordinary lives untouched by magic.
Others possessed a faint spark of mana,
allowing them to perform simple feats and minor spells.
A rare few were gifted with a strong affinity to one or more elements,
enabling them to wield elemental magic according to their alignment.
Among all, there existed a legendary group known as the Arcanian.
These chosen individuals could see, hear, and communicate with the elemental spirits themselves.
Through sacred pacts, an Arcanian
could borrow the power of a spirit,
a gift known as Arcana.
Upon forming such a bond,
a Crest—an elemental symbol
—would appear on the back of the Arcanian’s hand,
marking their unique connection.
In this legendary age, humans and elemental spirits
coexisted harmoniously, respecting each other’s gifts.
But this peace was shattered by Hadeon,
an Arcanian who discovered a way to
harness the spirits’ power for himself.
He created the formidable Etherion,
a device that stored the essence of countless spirits.
With this destructive power,
he decimated the kingdom of Aria and
declared himself the supreme ruler of the continent.
The spirits, terrified of being captured by Hadeon,
went into hiding, their trust in humans irrevocably broken.
The great elemental spirit Le’ Roche,
heartbroken over the events,
planned to eliminate humans by destroying the continent.
But she fell in love with Arceon,
the last of the Arian royal bloodline.
She granted him her power and
vowed that the spirits would continue
to sustain the continent.
Arceon, along with eight chosen Arcanian,
rose against Hadeon.
Le’ Roche sealed the power of Etherion into a Sacred Stone.
Arceon restored the Kingdom of Aria
and became the king of the reborn nation,
safeguarding the sacred stone.
The war ended, and peace returned to the land.
The eight Arcanian who aided Arceon
went their separate ways, but the bond between
humans and spirits remained severed.

-The Book of Legends
“And so, this tale from a time long past echoes still through the ages…
a whisper of light and shadow, awaiting its hour of return.”
Two thousand years after the ancient covenant between spirits and humankind, a prophecy lingered in the echoes of forgotten towers.
Some say it was carved by the hand of prophets.
Others whisper it was etched by the legendary heroes themselves.
Or perhaps—scrawled by unseen hands upon the stone.
“Behold, he who bears my blood and that of Arceon shall rise from Cadenza.
And with the chosen Arcanians, they shall cast down the awakened spirit who brings catastrophe, and restore balance to the earth.”
The Fractured Continent
The realm of Aria, once united under Legendary Hero King Arceon Arian and the Twelve Spirit Towers, had long since splintered into four nations:
Harmonia (North) — heir to Aria’s legacy, ruled by the peerless warrior-king, Musica Arclight.
Symphonia (East) — a sacred theocracy, guided by the divine emperor, Reiss Elion Solvere.
Melodia (West) — a desert kingdom of shifting sands and forgotten ruins, governed by the White Dune Sovereign, Queen Ismaire Djalhara Selune.
Rhapsodia (South) — an empire of iron discipline, ruled by the silent and unyielding emperor, Lyon Vareth Caelum.
In the year 2040, Rhapsodia’s shadow began to spread.
At the counsel of Katharina Virelthane, trusted adviser to Emperor Lyon, a swift and merciless campaign was launched against Melodia.
Within five days, Rhapsodian armies stormed Fort Oratorio, breaching Melodia’s borders. Their advance did not falter—one by one, Harmonia and Symphonia were pressed under their banner.
By 2043, the three nations, facing ruin, yielded in a Peace Treaty, surrendering sacred lands:
The town of Triad, jewel of Harmonia.
The Arpeggio Mountains, bastion of northern mana of Symphonia.
The ancient Adagio Bastille, sanctum of Symphonia.
A year later, Katharina was named Premier of Rhapsodia. Her influence rivaled even that of the empire’s warlords.
But power, once tasted, demands more.
By 2047, harsh taxes and forced labor shackled the conquered lands.
Riots flared—yet each was silenced beneath Rhapsodia’s iron heel.
For years the continent lay silent.
But in 2052, whispers of rebellion ignited.
Mercenaries, exiles, and nameless freedom fighters gathered, forming an underground movement that spread like wildfire.
In 2055, the fragile peace was broken once more.
Rhapsodia struck at the heart of Harmonia, seeking to seize the Tower of Wind—ancient stronghold of spirit worship—
and to claim Lar Sonata, where it was said that the life of Harmonia, the Sacred Stone still slumbered.
In a world suffocated by war, where spirits have vanished and faith withers into myth—
a light stirs.
Not in palaces, nor in fortresses…
but in the quiet town of Crotchet.
