Agnis’ defensive skill was unexpected. Nilah had grown to enormous proportions and encased him, protecting him from Giana’s onslaught. She was unable to break through this ball of frost. It was also gathering ordinary ice on its surface, warding it from absorbing the charm magic.

  “Ohh, making me work for it! Very well!”

  Giana had forgotten about my presence. This race is highly problematic. Never had I thought of fighting a nine-tailed spirit fox after Agnis’ stunt in that Nightmare dungeon and that duel weeks ago, yet here again I am…

  I placed Yvonne in a resilient [Shadow Dome]. Running wasn’t an option before, and certainly not now. [Shadow Tendrils] rolled Nilah behind me, causing Giana to focus on me.

  “How about this Greg? You give me Agnis and I will help you out with Yvonne.”

  All of Agnis’ previous behavior around women flashed through my mind. This was the second time I witnessed a vixen exerting charm magic in this manner. I find myself unaffected by this, but all the villagers are smitten and if not for their frozen state, they would be aiding Giana in subduing me.

  What does Yvonne have to do with this?

  Giana showed exasperation and started a marvelous aria.

  My brief moment of inattention caused me to get grazed by an enormous jellyfish.

  “It might not be able to damage you but defeating you isn’t my goal. He is unconscious, but our vision is still linked up so he is able to see this too, it’s named after my famous song, [Ayla Aurelia].”

  Giana’s voice multiplied, and she sang a multivocal song all by herself. A titanic jellyfish with an icy core, surrounded by a golden halo, appeared and its tentacles reached out for Agnis.

  I summoned [Shadowcat] to intercept it.

  I will hand him over after you calm down.

  Giana was sitting on the icy core of the jellyfish. The glow of the golden halo contrasted against her magenta glowing eyes.

  She held her hand at her ear, suggesting that she couldn’t hear me. The water must be a sound blocking barrier… putting her to sleep wouldn’t be an option, neither would cursing her.

  Realization set in, nothing I could do would be able to deal with her, my damage capabilities aren’t high enough, and she could easily dispel my debilitating status conditions and curses.

  Why are all these foxes a pain in the ass to fight?!

  As expected, all of my attacks were ineffective. Nothing could pierce, let alone dent, this jellyfish. Strange energies were whirling inside the medusa of this creature. It must have many more abilities, but all it was doing is attempting to retrieve Agnis.

  The massive amount of water magic flying around was slowly drowning my [Shadowcat] and I had to devise a solution with haste.

  This might be a checkmate. If I unleashed my three tailed shadowcat form, she might release her nine tailed spirit fox form, I would certainly lose in that scenario if she is at least half as competent as Agnis in its use.

  Umbra Noctis came out and it grew in size.

  Giana let out a bewitching smile. Agnis and Raishin would have fallen for that smile, that’s for sure. All the stored energy got concentrated into the face of the hammer and it collided with Nilah and launched it away to Giana’s surprise.

  Her song neither ceased, got interrupted, nor showed any sight of disturbance.

  Her full attention was on Agnis who had been sent flying. I took this moment of her inattention to seal her. [Shadow Tendrils] created a checkered pattern on her and the massive jellyfish.

  The color got sucked out of Giana and the jellyfish, and they got sealed away in [Abyssal Box] the moment they became grayscaled. [Abyssal Box] had been created to seal deities, but it seemed to be lacking, as it was violently shaking and had difficulties containing Giana.

  Layers got added to the seal to make it more secure, and I rested and recovered after the seal stopped misbehaving after 10 minutes.

  The situation had been defused. The villagers got knocked out by my [Blackout] and the charm magic got sent into the dimension. However, a problematic situation had presented itself.
