Chapter 3 Cant Go Back Now

Chapter 3 Can't Go Back Now

"Rooooaaaar!" The Golden Lion responded to Mo Yier's words. But, are you sure Mo Yier can understand?

Mo Yi'er chattered on for a while, then his stomach started growling again. "Hey, I'm hungry. Is there anything to eat here?" Mo Yi'er's gaze shifted away from Jin Shi and looked around, spotting a bonfire lit under a nearby large tree. The sky had already darkened. Mo Yi'er walked over to find the old man adding firewood. On top of the flames was a wild mountain goat that hadn't been fully roasted yet, and it was starting to give off a savory aroma.

Mo Yu'er swallowed hard and walked over to sit down by the fire pit. She said tentatively, "That... I'm also hungry."

"What do you want to eat?" The old man asked with a smile.

Mo Yi's clever nod was many times more gentle than just now.

"If you want to eat, stay behind. Otherwise, I won't give you any." The old man said firmly. After that, he added a few more twigs and stirred the wild goat meat.

Mo Yu'er was engaged in a fierce ideological struggle. It's not bad to stay here, the scenery is beautiful. But she had been living in the canyon for so long that she had already regarded her tribespeople as her own family. She couldn't bear to part with them, especially Chu Huo. Thinking that if she wouldn't see him again in the future, she felt even more sorrowful. Her stomach didn't seem to be as hungry anymore. She buried her head in her knees, her mind filled with images of Chu Huo.

"What's wrong? Don't eat anymore." The old man saw Mo Yuer so, and instead became unable to calm down.

"I'm not eating." Mo Yier was a bit sulky: "Obviously, you brought me here without my permission. Now you're not giving me food and threatening me. That's too much."

The old man pondered for a while before understanding the meaning of these complex words and sentences. He opened his mouth but couldn't refute Mo Yi'er. He glanced at Jin Shi, who was quietly lying beside him, then tore off a lamb leg and ran far away.

"Eh, what are you running for? The lamb leg still has blood on it, it's not cooked yet." Mo Yier shouted at the old man. On the remaining wild goat meat on the bonfire, there were many bloodstains. But this old man's strength was really great, and he easily tore open the sturdy lamb leg.

"Rooooaaaar!" The golden lion leaned in closer to Mo Yu'er, as if saying don't mind that old man. Mo Yu'er could only give up. That old man had already run off without a trace. She wanted to find him but couldn't.

She turned and flipped the wild goat for about an hour before it was well-roasted. The fragrant aroma of roasted meat made her swallow saliva uncontrollably. Although there was no salt, but with a hungry stomach, everything tasted good.

She ate while struggling to tear off pieces of meat and stuff them into the Golden Lion's mouth. The Golden Lion, however, seemed uninterested in eating. That expression somehow resembled that of a small ball of fluff. Small balls of fluff usually foraged for food on their own. Occasionally, Mo Yi would feed it, and it would have an uninterested look on its face.

The thought had just flashed through her mind when Mo Yuer shook her head. It was too ridiculous. The little furball's head and the cat were about the same size. How could this majestic, extraordinary golden lion in front of her be compared to him?

One lamb leg was almost enough to feed herself. Mo Yier wrapped the remaining food in leaves and put it away, which could be eaten tomorrow. Who knows where the old man ran off to? Whether they can eat tomorrow is still a question.

The day is already late. The cartoon watch on my wrist points directly at 9 o'clock. It's just been that long. I don't know if this watch is still working or not. In the near future, it should probably break down. "Yawn." Last night was a sad and crazy run in Jinshi. One night without sleep. At this time, my nerves are relaxed and I'm very sleepy.

She lay down beside the bonfire and fell asleep. The Golden Lion drew closer to her, warming her with his body heat. He spread his wings to block the night breeze for her, making her sleep even more comfortably.

Mo Yu'er moved slightly in the dream. The golden lion poked out and rubbed its nose, muttering: "Little ball of fluff, you're finally back. From now on, be good and don't run off randomly. Do you know I worry about you... blah blah blah." Mo Yu'er has been nagging excessively lately, even in her dreams she wouldn't stop chattering away.

The golden lion's mouth was split open, seemingly smiling. If Mo Yi'er woke up now and saw it, she would definitely think it was strange. But he really was smiling.

Soft grass as a bed, wings as walls, Mo Ye's sleep was extremely comfortable. This feeling is comparable to the soft mattresses of the 21st century. This sleep actually lasted till mid-morning. When I woke up, the sun was already overhead.

Mo Yi'er rubbed her sleepy eyes and before she could open them, she shouted: "Chu Huo! The trees have all been dug up. Are you going hunting today? Chu Huo, why aren't you answering me?" As she said this, her voice suddenly stopped. Mo Yi'er saw the enlarged golden lion face in front of her and suddenly remembered what had happened before. There was no longer a Chu Huo here. Suddenly, she felt like crying.

Mo Yu's nose turned red, and crystal tears welled up in her eyes.

"Ahh-oh!" The Golden Lion was somewhat flustered and lost his composure. His wings, which were just about to be retracted, stiffened.

"Ahhh... Chǔ Huì... Bān Gē... Where are you guys? Come and save me quickly! I've been kidnapped by a lion!" Mò Yì ér felt especially wronged in her heart. Why did she have to be taken away when she finally had a family? Why, why?"

The golden lion is a bit panicked, its paws constantly scratching, sometimes clawing at its ears and sometimes digging into the ground. It's all because of Mo Yi's mischief. How pitiful.

Mo Yu cried and shouted by the side of the child. After tossing for more than ten minutes, she felt that it was meaningless. Jin Shi would not come out to comfort her either. So she stopped. She took a deep breath and then asked Jin Shi: "Can you take me back?"

The golden lion resolutely shook his head. He would rather die than see you off.

"Why me? There are so many tribes outside and so many women, why did you have to pick me?" Mo Yier was puzzled.

"Rooooaaaar~" Jin Shi understood Mo Yi Er's words, but he wanted to respond. However, as soon as he opened his mouth, a lion's roar came out. This made him even more anxious and the sound grew louder, waking up the old man who was dozing off. He didn't know where he came from and asked, "What happened?"

"I want to go back." Mo Yier always says this when she speaks.

"Yawn... How could it be? On this cold day, you'd better stay here obediently. Wait until the leaves sprout outside, and he'll go back with you. Just wait patiently." The old man said meaningfully.

"Why." Mo Yu'er widened her eyes. Why wait for the leaves to sprout? Isn't it already spring? Jin Shi will follow along, won't he hurt his own people?

"There are so many whys, anyway it's like this." The old man yawned again and stretched his waist, but his stretching movement was just like a lion's.

"Can't I really go back now?" Mo Yi'er asked again. The old man was too lazy to answer him, his nose twitched and sniffed for half a day before accurately finding the roasted mutton wrapped in leaves on the tree.
